After watching my own Patty Duke marathon (season one), my ear caught something.

The opening theme goes: "Meet Cathy who's lived most everywhere..."
The closing theme goes: "Here's Cathy who's lived most everywhere..."

But for four episodes late in the season, they use the closing version for the opening. Listen for "Here's" instead of "Meet." It's a small point, but interesting. I always wonder why things like that happen!

Also on season three the theme music itself changes. The last season's theme used more guitar and back beats in the theme.

Yeah, I remember season 3's music is more like rock and roll rather than the big band/Andrews Sisters sound. I am going by memory since there is no Patty Duke shown on the cable in my remote area. I have to wait and hope season 2 & 3 will come out soon.

Here is the opening to Season Three. (I prefer the original :) )

Thanks, Randy. Boy that brings back a lot of memories! They still didn't credit Paul in the newer opening.

I like the older one too, but I like the shot of Patty getting her head caught in the plumbing!

I agree that the original theme from seasons 1 and 2 is a little better. But as far as the episodes go, the shows from season 3 are my favorites.

In the season 1 episode The Con Artists, the opening theme used is a different variation. The season 2 episode Patty The Organizer also uses a different variation of the opening theme. And I think there are four episodes from season 3 where the closing theme used is a shortened version.
