Watching the early episodes of "Andy Griffith," I am convinced that Ronny Howard was the best child actor ever!

I agree. Billy Mumy was quite good. Too bad he didn't have more acting opportunities.

I thought he would have made a good companion to Lassie, but he was four years younger than Jon Provost and was only three when Jon got the role of Timmy.

I think Bill did more acting in the long run, wheras Ron wanted to quit acting and pursue directing. Bill was on Babalon 5. He also did a sequel to an episode from the original Twilight Zone on the remake which was the best sequel ever. I like both actors and wouldn't really compare the two as one better than the other since they chose different fields in their profession.
