I find it funny that Vampire Diaries gave True Blood the award for Best TV Show; being that they are the two current vampire series with constant fan rivalry over which is better.

I thought that was funny too. I think True Blood is the better show. I have only seen Vampire Diaries a few times. I thought it was ok. Some people have said that the Sookie Stackhouse books are better than the Vampire Diaries books. My gut feeling is that they would be.

Both shows appeal to a different audience.

"True Blood" is a well-written, well-made show that has been getting rave reviews by critics and is meant for adults.

"Vampire Diaries" is made to appeal to teens. It's not anywhere near as well-written and it really doesn't need to be. It pretty much is a high-school drama with vampires. I get the feel that this show attracts more of the Twilight crowd.

A friend of mine likes both shows; she likes pretty much anything that is vampire related.

She said she likes them both for different reasons; Vampire Diaries is sweet and innocent and True Blood is hot and exciting.

Me personally I go for "True Blood". I haven't read the books that are the basis for either show. I tried "Vampire Diaries" but I just did not get into it. It is doing well for The CW though.

I know few people that like both shows mainly because they like anything vampire related too. I agree True Blood is better written show than the Vampire Diaries. One of my friends just started reading the Vampire Diaries books but I haven't ask her how they are. I think they would probably close to Twilight. I kind of think in maybe a year or two the vampire obsession in movies and TV shows will sort of die out.

I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and they had right in front the book box sets for both of them. Next time I go back I may pick up the Sookie Stackhouse set.

Yeah, vampires are "the thing" now. I say once the Twilight films are over this new thing will pass. It has some time though as Twilight is not over yet.

I agree with Drag Me To Hell it was better than I thought it would be.

I was really surprised by Drag Me To Hell too. I thought it would be stupid. A couple of months after it's release it was playing at a discount theater near the minor league baseball field in my city. My friends and I decided to go see it after a game and it was a lot better than I expected.
