Chapter 1- Ready for a Week Off

"I'm telling you, the best shooting storyline was 'Who Shot J.R?'" Detective Will Jefferies told Lieutenant John Stillman from across the library's table.

"Brian, I'd usually agree with you there but that's not the best shooting storyline," stated John. "Sorry about this but the best one was 'Who Shot Mr Burns', dig me?"

Will thought about that for a second. John was being nice about it and said "Alright, John, if you say so."

The head librarian, through some cruel twist of fate, had seen John around since he lived in Phillidelphia. Well, in all honesty, he didn't really mind having a friend around but it was different with women. Back when he was going out wih his flatmate's niece, they were young and in love. Now, he had been with friends sharing their views. Besides, he thought as he smiled at Will I'm lucky to be with somebody.

John looked up at the clock and noticed it was nearly 4:30pm and said "Will, we should start packing up. The library will close at 5:00pm."

"One second," Will replied. After writing down a few more facts, he put all of his books in his backpack. "So, are we meeting the others at Starbucks?"

"Yeah, I could sure use a break from all of this police work." John replied as he exited the library.

"Me too." said Will as they walked to the nearby Starbucks.

"Alright, you guys," said Detective Scotty Valens yelled as he ran towards John and Will with Detectives Lilly Rush and Kat Miller in tow. "So, what do we do since Vera gave us the week off?"

"Yeah, let's get there before all those kids stare at us?" asked John as he picked up his pace.

Within a few minutes, the five officers entered Starbucks and sat down at their usual booth by the window. They placed their orders and started chatting.

"You know, I just realized that today is Friday." said John.

"You can see why he's considered the other smart one." Kat told Lilly causing the latter to laugh.

"Anyway, I thought we could kick off the week with a little trip to Miami, Floria." John explained and all of a sudden, everyone gave him their full attention.

"A non-murder trip?" Lilly asked skeptically.

"Hey, we need to take a break too. I thought we could meet at my house around 9:00am tomorrow morning. We'll take a taxi to the airport and a plane to Miami." John said.

"Yeah, I could use a little holiday." said Scotty picturing Lilly in a bikini as the others mumbled their agreement.

"Alright, it's settled," said John as his coffee arrived. "Meet me at my house at 9:00am. To a week of fun." He shouted the last sentance as he raised his coffee.

"To a week of fun!" the other four shouted while clinking their cups.

Chapter 2- Arrving at Southend

The next morning, Jack was coming out of his house when he saw Brian, Gerry, Sandra and Ginger and said "Well, I guess we're ready to go" as everyone walked to Hounslow West train station and took a Piccadilly line train to King's Cross-St Pancras, a Hammersmith & City line train to Liverpool Street and a National Express train to Southend Victoria.

"Well, I'm glad to get away from London for a week," said Jack as he took a laptop/DVD player from his satchel. "Anybody want to watch a movie?"

"You've got a laptop/DVD player?" asked Sandra.

"Sure," explained Jack. "I've got the Golden Disc, the Leather Boys and the Simpsons Movie."

His four friends looked at each other and said "The Simpsons Movie!!!!" as Jack popped the Simpsons Movie in sat back down as the credits came on.

"Jack, how can you have a copy of the Golden Disc and the Leather Boys even though I ain't seen those on DVD?" asked Gerry.

"I'm an avid rockabilly/rock 'n' roll fan and a keen biker." said Jack coolly.

"But I only saw the Golden Disc once and it sucks." Ginger told Jack and suddenly, everyone on the train looked at Jack.

"D'OH, I forgot to mention that I had a biot part in that movie," Jack explained. "Now be quiet, the movie's starting."

Everyone got comfortable as the movie started. Sandra put her head on Gerry's shoulder and held his hand. Jack sat next to Ginger and Brian stared at the screen.

Two hours later, everyone started to yawn as the movie ended. Gerry grabbed Sandra's hand and helped pull her up.

"So, how much longer until we get to the beach?" asked Sandra rubbing her eyes.

"It should only be about another stop," said the train coductor. "Oh my God, UCOS!"

"Hey, gang, look who it is." said Jack as he smiled the conductor to find himself staring at Luke Hanson.

"Hi, gang," said Luke as he smiled back at UCOS. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We're heading for the beach," replied Jack. "Everybody brace yourselves for a week of sand, sun, sea and fun!"

Everyone on the train cheered as Jack said these words and a moment later, Luke said "The next stop is Sotuhend Victoria where this train terminates. Please take all your belongings with you when you leave the train and have a nice trip. Thank you for riding the National Express."

"Thanks, Luke." smiled Jack as the train stopped at Southend Victoria and every passanger got off the train. "This place is brilliant."

"Right, what the bloody hell is going on?" asked Ginger as they gang were on the beach at the same time as the local police.

"We've found someone's remains," said the Chief Inspector who looked a lot like Ross Kemp while motioning the scene. "The cause of death is unknown but we suggest that the victim was male, in his mid 20s and was killed on August 9th 1999."

A female officer who resembled Tamsin Outhwaite nodded and everyone else on their team along with UCOS kind of shrugged hardly understanding anything that the Chief Inspector had just said. Everybody crowded around him and tried to get a look at the remains.

"Have we got a name for this bloke, Guv?" asked the blonde officer.

"I think his name was Jimmy Cartwright and he vanished on August 9th 10 years ago." the Chief Inspector exclaimed.

Jack shook his head and said "We're an unsloved crime team ourselves. Maybe we can help you."

"Good idea." smiled the Chief Inspector.
