Race's Girl

Jack Halford walked over to the radio and wondered why Grace Pullman was on his mind non-stop since that night she told him that he was Sandra's father instead of Gordon but he also knew he'd never forget his late wife Mary.
"Jack, need to tell you something." Grace said after a long silence.
"What is it?" Jack asked.
"This isn't easy, Jack," Grace sighed sliding closer to Jack in his bed. "You're Sandra's real father, not Gordon."
"What?" Jack choked out. He looked at Grace with shock.
"I'm really sorry, Jack," Grace said. "I never told Gordon and I guess I should tell Sandra."
"I'll tell her." Jack replied quietly.
"Thank you, Jack." sighed Grace as she kissed Jack sweetly.
Turning the radio on, Jack decided that maybe the soothing sounds of Jim Reeves could cool him but he soon heard a knock on the door, walked over to it and opened it to see Grace herself smiling at him. He knew he was a Jim Reeves fan when he was younger and the radio wasn't going to play his favourite Jim Reeves song but his and Mary's Jim Reeves song.
"Grace," said Jack. "Glad to see you."
"Glad to see you too, Jack," said Grace as Jack let her in and closed the door. "Is that Jim Reeves playing on your radio?"
"I take it you're a Jim Reeves fan too, right?" asked Jack as he pulled Grace closer to him and they started dancing.
"Of course I am." sighed Grace as she started dancing with Jack.
I love you because you understand, dear,
Every single thing I try to do,
You're always there to lend a helping hand, dear,
I love you most of all because you're you
"That's another thing that connects us," joked Jack. "Our musical tastes."
"That's true," said Grace. "Gordon used to like this music as well."
No matter what the world may say about me,
I know your love will always see me through,
I love you for the way you never doubt me,
But most of all I love you cause you're you
"I hope you con't mind if I ask you a question, Grace." Jack said.
"Of course, Jack." Grace replied as she placed her head on Jack's chest.
"This may shock us both," said Jack. "Grace Caroline Tisdale Pullman, will you go out with me again?"
"Yes," Grace replied. "John Alan Halford, I will go out with you again."
I love you because my heart is lighter,
Every time I'm walking by your side,
I love you because the future's brighter,
The door to happiness you opened wide
"Thank you." smiled Jack.
"My pleasure." Grace smiled back.
No matter what the world may say about me,
I know your love will always see me through,
I love you for a hundred thousand reasons,
But most of all I love you 'cause you're you
As the song ended, both Jack and Grace kissed passionately knowing that they were going to spend there next date together.
"You haven't told Sandra yet, have you?" asked Jack.
"Well, she might not listen to me but I guess you can tell her." replied Grace.
"Jack, need to tell you something." Grace said after a long silence.
