How you became friends. Was it instantaneous, did it happen over time, did you just come to the conclusion that you know what, I just like this person, and want to be their friend. Please explain stories of gaining respect for members, or tell us how you became friends. I have alot to say on the subject, but my ADD is doing a number on me tonight, as it has been for weeks, so I'll respond when it's not so bad.

Usually the people I have the most respect for in life, that respect has developed over time. The same goes for the people who I most respect here at Sitcoms Online.

I have alot of respect for Janice and all that she has done for this site. Except for TJ himself, I don't think any single person has done more for this site then Janice. I've looked up to Sonny for many years. When I get out of line, he's never afraid to tell me so, but through good times and bad times, he's always supported me. Sonny is sort of the big brother figure that I've never had. I also really like Jude. Jude is another guy who will stand with you through thick and thin.

As far as my peers go, I have great respect for a couple of people. Billie and I have been friends for a few years now, but it has only been the last couple of months that we have become close. She is also the only SO member so far that I have spoken to on the phone. She is a very supportive friend who likes me for who I am, both good and bad. Jenny and I have been friends for many years, and though we've had our share of conflicts (some of them sadly out in the open), I think that Jenny is a great human being with a heart of gold. Then there's Cathy, who more than anyone here at SO reminds me of myself. Cathy is always so hard on herself, and that makes me sad because she is drop dead gorgeous, intelligent and funny. Since joining Facebook, Cath has become one of my best online friends.

The two younger SOers who I rank as great friends are Brad and Kristen S. Brad is simply a great guy who is loyal to his friends. We've gotten to know each other pretty well since he returned to SO after his year long sabbatical. Kristen, I've gotten to know more through Facebook than through SO. Before Facebook I really didn't know her all that well. Though her old username Sideshow Kristen is one of my favorites. Kristen is just a sweet girl who treats everyone with respect.

I could name so many others.

Well I don't have a SO story (yet!), but actually this is in regards to a member of the board that I met on another board several years ago. I noticed her posting quite a bit and she's always very enthusiastic and funny. She can be very vocal when expressing her opinions but does it in a way that is interesting to read.

Anyway, I'd noticed her posting and it took several PM's to her (not sure if they just didn't reach her or what) to get a response. I asked if we could email each other outside of the board. Finally she agreed and we've become really close. We've talked on the phone once, and that was almost two years ago (doesn't seem that long, though). We send each other things just for the heck of it and she is really good about remembering birthdays and annivesaries. I wish she lived a lot closer to me than she does because I have a feeling we'd be hanging out all the time.

She is a member of this board, but doesn't post very much anymore. I had mentioned to her once that I had experienced a problem with the board so she didn't want to post here anymore either, after I explained what happened. However, now that I'm back, I've noticed her posting again on occasion.

I respect most people on here.

I'm the same, I think I respect most, if not all of the people here. I don't think I can remember any particular incidents where I came to respect anyone.

Yooch is a member that I have had a lot of respect for since the beginning, as I have always found him to be polite, kind and fair-minded. He is a lovely gentleman.

I respect most people on here.
Me, too! I post on a lot of different forums here at SO, so I've gotten to know quite a few people. I can't say I like one more than another.
