Well, techincally, Sardoni hosted wheel2k s I can't count that. And both Bob goen nd Rolf Ican'tpronouncehislastname hosted the daytime wheel in the 80s/90s. But I say Sajak. Chelsea 12-09-2001, 08:30 PM OK, so age changes your mind Woolery willjarmon 12-21-2001, 09:48 PM By what I hear Chuck Woolery was more into the game. From what I saw Rolf had no idea what was going on and Bob didn't fit the mole to me. Pat is the best to some because you haven't seen the others. If the daytime version was ever to be released from NBC (NOT HAPPENING ANYTIME SOON) we'd get the chance to see then except Chuck TV Guy 12-22-2001, 01:54 PM Pat is a good host, if a little low-key. Chuck Woolery was excellent -- he has a lot of charisma, and is a natural. Goen was OK, nothing special. Rolf Benirschke was clearly out of his league, and I don't know what they were thinking when they hired him. Merv Griffin supposedly saw him on a talk show and thought he would be great, but it was apparent from the get-go that he was very uncomfortable, and he never got any better. fridayfoster89 03-02-2003, 03:26 AM There was more than one WOF host. OY Chelsea 03-09-2003, 06:46 PM Let's see, counting that Wheel 2000, er, sacrilage (IMO, Sp?) These people have hosted at least 1 episode of wheel of fortune Chuck Woolery (NBC, 1975-1981) Pat Sajak (NBC, 1981-1989, SYN 1983-Present) Rolf Benirschke (NBC 1989) Bob Goen (CBS/NBC 1989-1991) David Sardoni (CBS/GSN 1997-1998 "Wheel 2000) Alex Trebek (NBC 1981, SYN 1997 [He hosted a whole week during 1981 while Woolery was sick, then the April Fools Ep in 1997]) Also of note, Vanna White hosted part of 1 ep, due to Pat having Laryngitis. mstewart 03-09-2003, 10:41 PM Chuck Woolery and Susan Stafford were my favorite WOF hosts. They were entertaining to watch and were naturals. Pat sometimes rubs me the wrong way. |
