This season Ted has some great moments that really mad me laugh so hard I was crying.

When he and Lou bet on football and Mary explained the bookie jargon to him. When he saw Mary in the hideous green dress that showed a little(?) too much skin. When he was told he wasn't nominated for a Teddy Award and then presenting the award.

The writing on season five, to me, seems on a higher level than the previous four.

I agree, the writers really hit a lot of home runs in Season 5, and they had such great fun with Ted.

A funny touch I loved about Ted in "The System" was after he loses on the big bet, they eventually go to commercial. Then when they come back, the camera showing Mary's apartment is set very high, and it pans down and Ted is out on the balcony covered in snow! It was hilarious. It was just so "Ted" that he'd be that distraught, and it also brought the Minneapolis weather into the show again.

And when Mary gives her speech and then CLOSES THE CURTAIN on him...I laugh every time I see that one!

Also a nice Ted touch in the ep when he sees Mary in the skimpy outfit. He asks Georgette to get him a glass of water. She does, and then he says, "Get me a glass of water!" PRICELESS!

Yes just finished watching season5 Ted is great in it,when he was crying in Lou's office after not being nominated for a Teddy,was funny but felt sorry for Ted too.
I noticed the episode where Sherry appears again,Ted Knight's real name was credited as the barking neighbour of Sherrys!

It is indeed in Season 5. Great stuff. Yes, Ted's reaction to the dress Sherry made her (and then Lou's reaction) - priceless. The ONLY thing that would've made that great episode better is if Murray had seen it. We all know how bad he had the hots for Mary - his head probably would've exploded!! :eek: :lol:

Monika, I think you're confusing episodes, aren't you? The dress thing isn't in "Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcasters School." It's in "You Try to be a Nice Guy." But I agree, if Murray had been at Mary's, it would've been priceless to see his reaction! LOL
