Do you watch shows live or tape them?

For me it depends. Sometimes I watch a show live and sometimes I watch it later (if it's taped via the dvr).

I only watch a couple of shows live. I make my own tv schedules. The networks don't know how to schedule a night anymore.

I do record some stuff and watch it later. It depends on if I'm busy or watching something else.

I either record on my DVR or wait for the DVD release.

I like it when I don't have to wait for the episodes so I wait for the season to be released so I can watch a lot back-to-back; like for 24.

I don't watch a lot of live programs.

Oh man, I feel so old fashioned. I've never prerecorded TV to watch later. My family had DVR for a little while, but it was running up our cable bill a little, and we can't afford that right now, so we had to get rid of it.:( Man, that thing was awesome while we had it!!!:)

If I love a show enough, I'll make time to watch it... if not, well... whatever.

Absolutely right. They did back in the day though. Some examples:

Wednesdays, fall '83, ABC: "The Fall Guy," "Dynasty," "Hotel"
Sundays, fall '85, CBS: "Murder, She Wrote," "Crazy Like A Fox," "Trapper John, M.D."
Sundays, fall '83, ABC: "Ripley's Believe It or Not," "Hardcastle and McCormick," "The ABC Sunday Night Movie"

A far cry from what's on now on those nights, if you ask me.

I dont do this. I just put whatever into my VCR or DVD player and watch it. Most of the stuff I watch is ancient anyway.

I watch them live. I find if I tape them, I rarely get around to watching them.

I record some shows to watch in the mornings while I get ready, but for the most part, I watch stuff live.

I usually tape them and watch them later. Saves time by fast forewording through the commercials.

I DVR a lot. With so many commercials watching a show live, I get so frustrated. Wouldn't be so bad if you didn't see the same ad 3 times during a 2 hour movie. How many times do I have to see those Liberty Insurance ad with a person talking in front the Statue of Liberty? So nice to fast forward.

I wait until it comes out on DVD. I have better things to do than watch commercials for things I know exist, but there will be skiing in Gehenna before I purchase them because your ad offends me, and since I'm not part of a minority group you refuse to stop showing the ad.

If it's a new show we DVR it then we can watch it at our leisure and skip commercials, or catch it on Netflix streaming (if available)

Off and on I'll record it on DVR to watch and fast forward the commercials but mostly I watch things live and the cool thing is I can pause for bathroom breaks.

If I'm not at home or the program is on during late night hours then I just DVR it.

It depends on what I'm watching. Sometimes I watch them live, sometimes record to the DVR, sometimes both.

As it seems like I can't record anything at the moment (there is no connection right now between my satelite dish and my VCR or my DVR), I have to watch everything live or on SVT Play.

I usually record the shows I want to see. I have no patience for commercials. Especially on cable where a show on TVLand and other channels have far too many. Sometimes 5 or 6 at a time! Cable shows are the worst for commercials!

I actually like commercials for one reason: it makes it possible for you to get up and do something else for five minutes. But yeah, fast-forwarding past the commercial break is good too.

How many "live" programs are there now? Just the competitions shows (Big Brother, etc.) and some concerts and specials and award shows. Sports, of course, Next year Canucks!
