You search for an artist, song or album name, and you get a list of search results. then you click on a file that you want to download, from the search results, then you download it, and once it's finished downloading, it's transferred to your limewire library of music. from their, you can listen to the song over and over, as many times as you want, and it's all free.
you can google it, then type in limewire, and go in the downloads page and download a version that is compatible with your computer- whether it be a Mac, Windows or Linux. Actually, Frostwire is better. It is essentially Limewire, but with more search results.
http://www.frostwire.com/?id=downloads
Click whatever operating system you have- I think you have Windows though right? Click on the Windows logo on that page, and it'll take you to the download page, and a download will pop up. Save it to your computer, and download the Frostwire Installer, run the program and your their.

Yeah but you're saving your money- by spending money on it. It sounds stupid but it's true. But then again, I still love going out and buying CDs, when I'm not downloading it 24/7:lol:, so I agree w/ you their.

I haven't bought a CD or a record for ages, but I do buy them. I like the process and the feel of going into a music shop and buying an album.

Thats what its all about for me.
Sharop 10-13-2009, 05:09 AM I usually like the atmosphere of music/DVD shops as well. The same with bookshops. Buying or downloading online, you don't get that atmosphere, although I do like ordering things online as well.
ponytail 10-13-2009, 06:15 AM I still buy CD's, so MickeyMac that makes 2 of us.
Doodyville10019 10-13-2009, 12:53 PM I buy my songs either from I-Tunes or amazon.com
EmoJoe 10-13-2009, 03:50 PM lol this has been around for like 10 years...i use iTunes. iTunes is pretty much the only way i get music now. i even buy my albums on iTunes mostly.
limewire can give your computer pretty serious viruses, you have to be careful with it.
Hollow 10-13-2009, 04:12 PM welcome to 1999.
Zoneboy 10-13-2009, 04:42 PM I buy records mainly from flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales. It's a real good feeling paying a quarter for 45's and unloading them on eBay for a $100 or more. :p
HuntingtonM15 10-13-2009, 04:57 PM I still buy CD's. I listen to them every time I'm in my car. I love going to the store on the release date to buy them.
HuntingtonM15 10-13-2009, 04:57 PM welcome to 1999.

I don't buy a lot of cd's but I still purchase them.
Mainly it's of artists that I like and when they release a new album I will buy it; Rob Zombie, Manson, KISS, Metallica, King Diamond, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Nightwish, Nile... those are some of the artists whose new releases I have picked up.
I also have friends who release independent records so I purchase those too.
MickeyMac 10-13-2009, 06:00 PM Records first for me. I dont care if its a first pressing or a reissue, I just want it on vinyl. I'll settle for CD's when something is released that didnt come out on record.
EmoJoe 10-13-2009, 11:40 PM welcome to 1999.
i know right? i had no idea there were people that didnt know about this lol
Schmoopie 10-14-2009, 01:10 AM I still buy CD's, so MickeyMac that makes 2 of us.
Add me to that list!
I have a "rule" about buying CD's, though. I won't buy them for just one song anymore, unless I'm at a used CD store and the price is reasonable. For me to spend money on a new CD, there has to be at least two songs I like on it. Thanks for the info about these free and inexpensive ways to buy music, though. I just got an Ipod shuffle, so I'm still learning how all this stuff works.

Well I didn't get internet access at home until 2002 and didn't get a laptop until 2006 so this way buying music is new in my world-lol
Wreckless 10-14-2009, 08:23 PM i have had 0 problems with limewire, and I've had it 3/4 years.
Kazaa, SUCKS
napster, SUCKS
Bearshare, SUCKS
napster was the first, and was great for awhile, for getting what you wanted, but with all the lawsuits and controversy, just encountered a meltdown, and now it's nothing- and even if you wanna buy music off their, it's pay, and not that good. kazaa was soooo slow. i had dial up, and kazaa- so my computer was slow as hell. bearshare was virtually the same for kazaa. kazaa encountered problems and is pay now. i forget what happened ultimately with bearshare. i think it was just too slow, and became stupid. limewire >>>
limewire, and frostwire, is the way to go. i am telling you. i make a living off of downloading music......actually, no really . I listen to so much music- limewire was perfect for me. everything is free, and you can use the video part of the program for music videos etc. and find anything and everything you need, related to music. no problems with it for me.
