There have been so many... this is dedicated to them.

(Let's try to do this one at a time.)

I'm going to start with Natasha Richardson. A beautiful actress and a great lady. We lost her far too soon. Rest in Peace, Tasha.

I know they weren't famous, but two teachers who worked in my school system passed away this year. We also lost our former superintendent. They were decided individuals who enriched the minds of many children over the years.

My favorite actor of all time Paul Newman died this past year. I love his movies! Especially "The Hustler", "Hud" and "The Long Hot Summer". So glad that we still have his films. He was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And so handsome!

My favorite actress Bea Arthur. She was a good Golden Girl star on TV and also good on Maude. She was a good play role model as Dorothy Zbornak on "The Golden Girls." Rest In Peace Bea!

I would like to pay tribute to several people. The first is John Hughes who was a great screenwriter and director. The gifts he gave to the world will never die.

My tribute is to Patrick Swayze. I never met him but he seemed like a wonderful person who loved life and lived it to the fullest. Even when he was diagnosed with that horrible pancreatic cancer that took his life, he continued to work as much as he could while showing incredible strength. I bet he's as beautiful now as a real angel as he was in "Ghost" pretending to be one.

We love you Patrick. Thank you for all the joy you've brought to us.

Despite his many problems, Michael Jackson gave millions of fans many years of great
music and entertainment. Gone too soon. Here's how I like to remember Michael.

Farrah Fawcett. Such an incredible talent, gone far too soon. I'm in the process of watching Small Sacrifices right now, and it's beyond me how she didn't win any award for it.

Not hugely known, but opera singer Hildegard Behrens passed away this year as well. She was a fantastic soprano, one of the best Wagnerian singers of all time. She also went to the same school I did in Germany. Auf Wiedersehen, Hildegard!

Gosh, sadly, there have been so many - but Patrick Swayze's death really hit me hard - he struggled so and put up an amazing fight against what's probably the WORST and deadliest form of cancer. What a valiant and brave man.

And of course poor Farrah who also fought hard.

Some people's grit and courage can really be mind blowing and strong inspiration.

We also lost Patrick McGoohan this year. One of the handsomest leading men to come out of Ireland (despite the fact that he was born in America). To me, he'll always be the dad from "Thomasina." God bless him.

I'm going to take a moment to remember Betsy Blair. She's nearly forgotten today, but this actress and dancer was responsible for her husband, some guy named Gene Kelly, to make a career in Hollywood. I think the world owes her much gratitude.

One of my favorite actors of all time, Mr. Mladen Sekulovich (better known as Karl Malden) passed away this year after a very long life, and a marriage that lasted over 60 years. He was the last surviving star of "A Streetcar Named Desire." May he ride that streetcar forever :) God bless, Mladen.

My two beautiful cats who touched my life for 14 years. They never hurt or judged anyone and made me a better person for knowing them. I would trade my cancer for theirs if I knew it could bring them back. God can be so cruel at times.

Like Cathie, I lost a very special loved one back in July. I got Snuggles for Christmas in 1997. She was my baby, my best friend. She was always there when I needed her and unlike my family, she never let me down.

Snuggles was diagnosed with cancer in January of this year. I promised her that if she would hold on as long as she could, I would let her go when she was ready. July 9th, she looked up at me, and I knew she was telling me that she had held on as long as she could, but she was ready to go. She died on July 10th. I've always loved animals, but never had such a deep connection with a pet before her. Snuggles would have been 13 years old on November 2nd. I will never, ever forget her. God Bless you Princess Snuggles Bambino!!

I just found out Collin Wilcox died. She was such a cool person... spunky is the word that comes to mind when I think of her. She was best known for playing the girl who falsely accuses a black man of rape in To Kill a Mockingbird but I remember her best from a fabulous episode of The Twilight Zone.
