View Full Version : "You Get Five Re-dos!"
Janice Johnson 10-07-2009, 10:48 AM You find a magic Genie and he says, 'I'm a special Genie. You don't get three wishes, but I will give you FIVE Re-dos. You may only get FIVE Redo-s, nothing more, nothing less." What Re-dos would you ask for?(By the way, "Re-dos" are mistakes in your past you wish you could start over). ;)
Doodyville10019 10-07-2009, 12:21 PM 1. I wish I was born in 1950, not 1960
2. I wish I could go back to high school - things would be VERY different
3. I wish I attended a four year college and majored in psychiatry
4. I would start a serious writing career MUCH earlier than I did
5. I wish I were more financially smart and less impulsive.
Chocoholic 10-07-2009, 03:49 PM Only 5? I need a lot more...
1. As a teenager, I would have cherished time with my extended family more instead of wishing I was out with my friends.
2. I would hold on to certain friendships instead of letting them slip away.
3. I would have gotten more involved socially in high school and college instead of being the extremely shy, anxious loner.
4. I never would have given that love letter to that boy in seventh grade, or had a crush on anyone, period. I would have realized early-on that no guy would ever want me and I shouldn't get my hopes up.
5. I would have stood up for myself at certain times in my life instead of backing down and giving in.
MickeyMac 10-07-2009, 06:11 PM 1. I wish I had been more focused when I was 19 and first in college. I could have had my PHD and a teaching job by now.
2. When I was 14 I had a year from hell. I had this problem with this girl who would never stop hassling and teasing me. I wont say what happened, but I wish I would have handled things differently. It pretty much ruined me when I got to high school.
3. About six years ago I met this girl online and started a relationship. I wish to God I never met her. That turned into the biggest mistake of my life, and literally nearly killed me.
4. I wish I would have been more financially responsiblie when I was younger.
5. Right before I turned 14 I moved back in with my mother. Before that I was living with my grandmother and uncle. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed there just to see how things would have turned out.

Black boy???? Are you from the south????
May I ask why the fact that I am black is so shocking????
dakert 10-11-2009, 10:55 PM If I were to change things--I would have needed my parents to back me up but I doubt that would ever have happened.
Even though my early years kinda sucked and wished I had done this or that. I am very thankful/blessed for where my life is now :-)

35 to be precise.
dakert 10-16-2009, 11:54 PM MickeyMac (looking at your profile) I was wondering if you know many other black people who like what you enjoy? I am white and it is difficult to find others with similar taste in entertainment(sans this message board)

Not being stereotypical, but most of the black people I know are into rap music, and that sh*t irritates the hell out of me. Also I dont know too many other black people who like to read books and watch 1960's television.
dakert 10-17-2009, 10:31 PM MickeyMac-- what happened to you  How did you get into 60s tv and reading books?
