Any guesses as to when the complete boxed set will be released? I was thinking it would come out for the holidays. :confused:

I just checked the "coming soon" list at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. They list the planned releases from Oct. 6 - Dec. 1. The Bewitched boxed set does not appear anywhere on this list.

....and how about All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Maude, One Day at a Time, The Facts of Life, Diff'rent Strokes........ Nobody seems to "get" Sony's marketing strategies!

Some possible bad news for the US DVD set release as Mark Simpson, the Bewitched Collector, posted on his website that the inside word from Sony is that because the IDOJ Complete DVD set sold so badly that we might not get a BW complete DVD set!

So what i say as if one has the season sets the complete DVD release is moot as the extras are worthless from what i have seen of them.

They are all recent creations, not the vintage footage that any Bewitched fan would find meaningful.

Yeah, I heard basically the same thing. Hey, you're saving quite a bit of $$$ if you already have the individual sets.

I think at least the first 2 were on the R1 season 1 set and the run time for the UK extras is about 25 minutes:mad:

I'm still anticipating this coming in the U.S. I stopped buying Bewitched after season 4, because I knew this was going to happen! Like so many Complete Series Packages, fans buy season by season, then The Boxed Set comes out with new extras. I'm afraid this will happen with The Mary Tyler Moore Show, too.

Me too! We create the demand by buying the season sets and they punish us by releasing some tiny extras on a complete set. Hopefully someone will upload them to youtube:eek:. No doubt someone at Sony is sitting on a leather chair stroking a cat and counting money...

If Sony are that stupid that they think IDOJ selling badly as a complete set means Bewitched will as well despite them being different shows with only the magic of the effects being the thing that ties them together, perhaps they might put together a dvd with just the bonus features? I can live in hope can't I.

Anyway, the site mentioned in this thread contains some great stuff such as promos for the first season that includes scenes left on the cutting room floor.

Your biggest mistake its trying to figure out any kind of logic involved with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. :rolleyes: Bottom line, they just do not care about the consumer. If they did care, they would invest some time to put together some sort of public relations team, thats sole purpose is communicating and analizing what people that buy their product want.
It seems Sony is so gigantic, this one division of their company needs some attention. I guess we can hope that some day this will happen. We can always have HOPE!

You're absolutely right that Sony could care less about the Average Joe/Jane. After all, how long have we been waiting for the rest of Barney Miller, Facts of Life, etc.?? :mad:

I will say one positive thing about Sony though, at least they're not guilty of the dreaded "volume" , half-season releases. If theres anything I hate more its getting all excited that a show I want is coming out with Volume 1, Season 1, like CBS/Paramount does!:mad: :mad: :mad:

The only time I buy complete series box sets is when I never bought any of the season box sets. I did this with Full House and The Brady Bunch, it was cheaper than buying all the individual seasons separately.

I'm not buying complete series box sets of Bewitched or I Dream Of Jeannie because I bought the seasons when each was released.

Me too, usually. I don't have very many complete series sets, what I do have:

The Brady Bunch (had first 2 seasons which I sold)
M.A.S.H. (hadn't started buying yet; bought from Amazon 1 day sale)
The Cosby Show ( " " " ' " ; and bought on sale)
The Dick Van Dyke Show (bought used)
Get Smart (bought from Time Life)

Some shows I pass on, because I already bought individually OR I don't like the packaging (I Love Lucy) Some shows I'm in a dilema because the complete series have new extras, and if its a favorite show, I probably already have individual sets (Seinfeld)
