When the “Saturday Night Live” opening credits rolled last weekend, Darrell Hammond’s name wasn’t included for the first time since 1995, reports the New York Times.

NBC and staff members at the show declined to comment, although one staff member, speaking anonymously, said the comedian is no longer a regular but could come back as needed.

...has been on the show since the start of Season 21, way back in 1995! As the longest-lasting of all the "Not Ready For Prime-Time Players", it was decided, with an agreement between Lorne Michaels and Darrell himself, that Season 34 would be his last as a regular cast member. If and when he wants to return for "guest appearances" (as Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon, to name but two, have already done), he's always welcome to do so.
