and basically wasting people's time and money? They could use that energy to finish out a few series--hello, Jeffersons, All in the Family! Or keep going on other stalled series like Diff'rent Strokes, Barney Miller, The Facts of Life, Hazel, etc.
some have already been completed on DVD--like Bewitched! What Bewitched fan who already owns the series is going to buy a set with episodes he already has??
I just don't understand the logic with Sony--first the Norman Lear tribute (which reissued season ones of his series) and now this!

It's all about money Jude. There hoping to wring every possible dollar out of these properties that they own. They're hoping people who weren't willing to pay for the whole series or complete seasons will be willing to pay for "best of" sets. Don't be surprised if you see individual episodes come out next!! It's pretty much the same principle as Hollywood remaking remakes of movies that have already been remade before.

I was actually looking forward to getting one or two of the titles on the understanding that there would be random episodes from the entire run of the series. Then I find out that the episodes are all from one season and worse still - that they're merely in airdate order. How does that constitute as "Fan favourites"??? It's false advertising! I've taken them off my Amazon wishlist.

I have to agree with the above posters that there was really no point to this.
There is nothing on these Fan Favorite DVDs that hasn't been released before.
People who have all the DVDs to date (or the seasons that contain the "Fan" eps) would not go and get this; esp. since there are no extras or anything new at all.
I also don't get why someone would choose these random DVDs with 6 or 8 eps. from a season and not get the whole complete season instead.

I have to question just how much money they are making from these though. I mean they are obviously spending some money for re-packaging, artwork, distribution. It seems like they are just throwing out garbage. It's not a logical move.
I think it would be smarter to continue some of their series (even short-lived ones) so they have the word "COMPLETE" to back up their sets. There is only one season left of "The Flying Nun" and they haven't released it yet.
"What's Happening Now!!" only has 2 more seasons.
"All in the Family" only has 3 more seasons.
Are they going to bother using any of their resources in the future???

They want to target the fans who have oatmeal for brains and take advantage of them and get more of their money. I guess I'm too stupid to realize that all the eps on the Jeffersons set are from a season that is already on dvd. but Sony is hoping and praying that I'm that stupid and won't realize it so they can take my money AGAIN for the same sh*t
