I read this earlier. What a selfless thing for this woman and her family to do for this couple they had never even met! I feel awful for them that they are having to go through this, but it is such a blessing to the other family. I hope this couple will be able to have a child of their own sometime soon.

Wow, it's hard to believe with all the technology that exists these days that a mistake like this can even be made. I can't even begin to imagine the anguish this family is going through thinking they were having another child only to learn they were having someone else's child. There is no compensation that could ever make up for what this family has had to go through. I marvel at the grace and dignity they have shown in extremely difficult circumstances.

I saw this on TV and all I can say is my heart goes out to the lady who just gave birth. I couldn't do what she did. What a brave lady.

How can they be certain that she is definitely carrying this other woman's baby? I think she should insist on a DNA test first.

Still, it's a tragic story for both families involved.

OT- I really wish more people would consider adopting. There are a lot of children out there who would love to be part of a loving family. I'm not against IVF, but I do wish adoption would be considered more.

I agree with you about adoption Kristen. Adoption can be a very positive experience for families. I speak from experience as I myself am adopted. I can attest it has been a totally positive experience for my family and I. I also have a niece and a nephew that are adopted and that has been a positive experience as well.

I agree, but I don't get this new trend of celebrities and people adopting children from other countries. What about kids who are orphans in the US? From what I understand, adoption agencies have strict rules and regulations, which could be one reason why people don't want to bother with it. However, I don't think it's a good idea for them to become much more lenient as a result.
