I don't know if you could get youtube from your server, but there was this interview I watched on there it was a 3 parter, it was over an hour between the 3 parts. Anyway, he was talking about how he got into the business and everything, then he mentioned how he didn't have an agent, I believe he called Norman Lear, and he mentioned they wanted him on a sitcom. He said he thought they wanted him to appear on Sanford and Son, because Sanford and Son ran around that time. He said he didn't even see himself on All in the Family, he didn't even watch it much. It was interesting, though after an hour, the interview started to lag, but it was watchable. I just thought I 'd let you know that if you didn't.

Yeah I saw it that's when I found out about the opening credits. He said the scene with him strolling and him and Isabel got out of the cab was him just being silly and that's they used. he said they did that cab scene about 9 times

I also found it interesting that he asked the producers if he could call the Louise character "Weezy" in reference of a woman he had a crush on growing up.

Yeah, I don't think those white writers would have told him to say WEE ZAY or told him to say it the way he did.
