» Cook announced that Travolta and his old co-stars will return for "Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride."
Recently, at Disney’s D23 Conference, it was announced that the sequel had been titled “Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride” and that it would begin filming soon. So when I caught up with Tim Allen recently, I had to get the scoop on where he and his biker brothers would be heading next.
“We start [shooting] it in May,” Allen said of the sequel, which is going to film all over Europe while aiming to hit theaters in 2011. “[William H.] Macy is gonna propose to Marisa Tomei, which is how we left it [at the end of the first film].”
In the grand tradition of movies like “Halloween II,” the soon-to-shoot “Hogs” sequel will pick up immediately after the first film ended, with a plot that has the Hogs bikers taking Macy’s Dudley for a wild ride to celebrate his impending nuptials.
“It’s like, literally, moments later in movie time,” Allen said of the script. “We end up going to a bachelor party. But we decide to do it as another hog trip, and we go to Europe this time.”
With John Travolta and Martin Lawrence both on-board to return, the characters will encounter all sorts of language boundary difficulties, some heart-to-hearts about married life and, of course, all sorts of physical hijinx. “All of us are excited that once again we get to get naked in ponds,” laughed Allen, recalling one of the most memorable scenes from the first “Hogs” ride.
“We’re traveling around Europe, and [the script] gets into different cultures and different roads, and Harleys in Europe with these four guys,” explained Allen, who can be heard once again as Buzz Lightyear in next week’s “Toy Story” 3D double release. “The [‘Wild Hogs’ sequel] script is quite funny - and this is in the first draft, which is why we’re all doing it. It’s really fun.”
