I missed a bit of the first episode of this season because I was watching the season premiere of "House", which ended a couple minutes past the hour. Since I came late to the CSI parties in general and didn't see the early episodes of "Miami" in their first runs, I was wondering if the flashbacks last night were from the original pilot or from an episode that should have been the pilot but was never aired? I didn't remember the story at all...

Also, I just caught the end of the credits and saw Eddie Cibrian. But his character was (from what I could understand) only in the "flashback" part, in which most of the other actors looked like they might have about 10 years ago, especially David Caruso. I am really confused--can someone clarify?

OK after seeing another episode, I get that Eddie Cibrian's character had worked with Horatio a long time ago. But I still don't remember if the "flashbacks" from the season premiere were from a pilot episode that I missed way back then or that was never before aired. Can someone help?
