first of all, I give a lot of respect to backup QB Kevin Kolb for stepping in last-minute, and filling in for Donovan McNabb, and doing a superior job today, despite the 2 INTs.
our defense obviously needs work, but I still think we are one of the best defenses in the NFL. This might also be a wakeup call for our d and team, to step it up. we beat a great team last week but Drew Brees for the most part, had his way with us today at the Linc.
I also want to give props to Desean Jackson. You had another nice game. You proved to me that you can handle and play well under the wildcat offense, you can run the ball, be a receiver, a running back and a punt/kick returner.
I liked Andy's post game conference. he didn't make ANY excuses and by the tone of his voice, he seemed very pissed, and he knows that we need a lot of work, and that all the mistakes coming from our team today fall back on him & are his fault. may i remind you it's only week 2 as well.
one big thing- TOO MANY penalties. way too many. unnecessary and uncalled for. no excuses. you make that many penalties, you are giving a great offense a lot of extra unnecessary yards.
i give my props to the saints. great job defensively, even though we didn't have mcnabb. great job offensively, big props to drew brees and head coach sean payton.
one question for the eagles coaching staff, specially special teams. why? why is ELLIS HOBBS, of all players, returning kicks? yeah he had a nice play, after he fumbled the ball (that saints player made a nice play to get the ball out on the return). i think d jackson can be a kick and punt returner, but that's just me.
props to garcia for teaching, mentoring and helping kolb, and preparing with him for this week's game. kolb almost had 3 picks, if that saints player catches that ball after the big drive, but he also showed me some good things as a well. still, he is still considered a rookie by me. only one game played before this game, so you can't say the guy is experienced whatsoever at the quarterback position.
lol i liked the sheldon brown mask. you are one of my favorite players and I know you were only trying to pump our players up and the crowd, for the home opener, but show me it on the field as well!!!! you give it your all but I am just saying.
i liked andy calling out the players. he is starting to do some good things, that he has NEVER done in the past, whether it be during post-game conferences or whatever else it may be. i am liking him doing things different.
may I remind all the haters and everybody else, MIKE VICK is going to be eligible for next week's game vs. Kansas City, and should be in the game! Mr. Haley, BE READY!!! wild cat baby
sav rocca had some good punts today, and had some dismal ones. i would like for him to be more consistent as a punter. i know you have it in you sav.
penalties, field position and mental mistakes, like chris gocong said post-game, killed us today.
last week our d was great against jake delhomme. delhomme's rating last week was 14.7, and brees QB rating this week vs. our d was a whopping 118.6!!!! we need to be better and shake up the QB a little bit more. keep the pressure coming mcdermott.
brent celek. big props to you today. you played a heck of a game in my mind, and you gave it your all. the one play where it took 3, almost 4 SAINTS to take you down, was amazing! you had big catches that gave us first downs, and made us able to move the chains.
besides that, the d needs to get better. mcnabb might be back next week but who knows. but big congrats and props to New Orleans and Drew Brees.
48-22 was the score.
