American TV actor Dave Coulier is facing a battle with U.S. revenue chiefs - the comedian reportedly owes nearly $50,000 (GBP33,330) in state and federal taxes.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filed a $37,063 (£24,710) lien against the former Full House star in March 2008, reports the Detroit News.

California tax officials then accused the 49-year-old star of failing to pay $11,793 (GBP7,860) in taxes in May.

A spokesperson for Coulier had yet to respond to requests for comment as WENN went to press. »

I know it's a lot more money you have to pay when you make a lot more, but really- what's up with people not paying their taxes? How do they even get away with that?
Well- sad to hear this, but trust that Dave Coulier will be able to get this straightened out with the IRS soon.
(Maybe he can get with John Stamos on that Full House reunion to earn some extra money.;) )

I guess he needs to start booking some more of his lame stand-up comedy shows to earn some money to pay off the taxes. I did like him on Full House, but wow, his stand-up act is awful.

I'm sure his stand-up act can't be much worse than America's Funniest People. He co-hosted that show at one point with Tawny Kitaen, who is infamous here in the Cleveland area for her physical attack on then-hubby (and then-Indians pitcher) Chuck Finley.

Which is ironic cause Danny is funny as sh*t as a stand up comedian (Bob Sagget), and Joey was the funny one on full house lol.

 It's probably comparable. His act consists of stupid impressions like Scooby Doo. That may be funny if the entire audience was 8.

I do remember he did a dead-on impression of Jay Leno once. Now THAT was a good impersonation.

I mean, it was cool seeing him just for the nostalgia factor, and I only paid $15 so I don't really regret it. It's just sad when the two unknown openers for him were 10x funnier.

Yeah, it would be pretty embarrassing to be upstaged when you're the headliner. :o When did you see this show, Michael?

In the Full House Biography show, he was the only one who expressed interest in a Full House reunion. Now I know why!!

I saw Dave on a talk show a few months ago and he was promoting a website that he is part of that promotes wholesome, family friendly entertainment. I actually visited the website at the time (sorry I don't remeber the URL) and it was exactly what he said it was. A resource for wholesome, family friendly entertainment. I have a hard time believing that someone who is so involved in promoting family values would deliberately rip off the government. I have a feeling that down the road we will find out that a dishonest accountant or a crooked manager is to blame for Dave's current troubles.

Yeah that makes sense. Dave seems to be the only one (besides Candace) who is most like a Full House character-wholesome, and not "controversial...

Bob Sagat with his very UN-Tanner-like stand up, John Stamos getting divorced, Jodi Sweetin with her drug problems and then there's the Olson twins....

Well, Lori Loughlin seems to have stayed pretty much on the straight and narrow as well...

That's true. For some reason whenever I think of Full House actors/actresses, I always leave her out. You're right though. She seems to be doing pretty well with her role on the new 90210. She's still on it, right? Shows how much I tune in!

Yes, Dave, Candace and Lori still have their morals and so do Andrea Barber

I mean, everytime I see Lori do a show, she doesn't do much cussing whether it be Comedy or Drama

I hope and pray that Dave gets everything straightened out.

and also, I like Dave and I'm glad that he still has his morals and yes, I did see that website once as well.

and plus, Dave and Lori were the reasons why I watched Full House

Dave with his impressions and Lori w/her No Nonsense Attitude
