MTV has said yes to a new puppet comedy series called "Warren the Ape," reports B&C.

The show will follow the developments in the life of Warren "The Ape" Demontague, a washed up puppet actor, trying to make it in show business.

Warren originally appeared on "Greg the Bunny," a failed puppet series that ran on Fox in 2002.

I guess I'm the only one who remembers watching the FOX sitcom "Greg the Bunny" in the spring of 2002 (and thought it deserved a longer run), and actually remember characters such as Greg, Warren the Ape, Count Blah, and Tardy the Turtle.

that show was awesome and should've been given a better chance - if this show about Warren goes I will definately be watching (although Tardy was my favorite)

I remember when it was first on (I was in my last year of college), but I never watched it. My mind was set mainly on final exams and graduation!

So it's a spin-off of a spin-off. Greg the Bunny was initially on IFC, I believe, then he got the sitcom. Warren's not one of the better characters, but that shouldn't surprise me, coming from MTV.

I'm still annoyed that the DVD of the sitcom is full-screen when it was one of the first widescreen shows Fox broadcast.
