Rockers KORN have snubbed former guitarist BRIAN 'HEAD' WELCH's bid to rejoin the band.
Welch quit back in 2005 after finding God, revealing he had "chosen the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end".
Four years on he's had a change of heart and recently got back in touch with former bandmates James 'Munky Shaffer and Jonathan Davis, asking to come back on board - but they rebuffed his advances.
Shaffer tells Attitude TV, "Brian actually contacted us recently and wanted to come back to the band. And it was not the right time... for us. We're doing well, and it's kind of like... It's kind of like if you divorced your wife and she went on and she stayed successful and her career flourished, and you go back and (say), 'My gosh, she's still hot.' 'Baby, can we get back together?' 'Wait a minute... All the stuff's been divided, and it's like... I don't see it happening right now. It's not gonna happen right now."
Shaffer also reveals former drummer David Silveria is unlikely to ever return to Korn - three years after embarking on a hiatus from the band.
He says, "I heard he sold every single drum he owns... or he gave it away. He doesn't even own a drum stick. I mean, it blows me away... Wow, one of the best drummers I've ever played with and I think a lot of people have ever heard. Just to go... 180 (degrees).
"The music business can be dirty and some people can endure it and some people just don't want anything to do with it once something bad has happened to them."
Neither Welch or Silveria were replaced - instead Korn opted to hire a backing band to take their place on tour.

Its funny how when someone has God in their life, they get treated like they have the plauge.

Exactly. Brian Welch is better off without them.

Brian left the band on his own terms and now wants back in. If the band is going on tour with a good flow they have a choice to make if they want to make any changes at the moment and they decided not to.

I don't think Brian being refused back in has anything to do with religious beliefs.

By the way, bassist Fieldy of Korn (real name Reginald Arvizu) is in fact a born again Christian, and has written a book about it. He apparently has no problems being in the band, and they have no problems with him.

I think I read the reason why they wouldn't let Head back in the band because they weren't ready for him, or maybe they felt he wasn't ready to come back. I'd have to check the exact quote. I think they've gone on in their own direction and feel his return would disrupt their progress.

The band has backup members on tour? And their drummer sold all his drum kits. Wow, this doesn't look good.
