View Full Version : “The Jay Leno Show" Debuts Tonight! Will You Be Tuning In?
Brian Damage 09-14-2009, 10:37 AM NBC’s 10 p.m. strip of the “The Jay Leno Show" is sure to draw plenty of viewers tonight when it debuts, but the industry is more interested in what happens in the next month, reports Variety.
"I'm sure they've already written the press release for the first night," a rival network executive told Variety. "For the first week there will be plenty of lookie-loos. We're not going to know for a while."

Schmoopie 09-14-2009, 10:42 PM I will absolutely be tuning in! I''m excited!
JulieSomoski 09-14-2009, 10:43 PM So far I'm enjoying it! Definitely great to have Jay back on television - I will say that NBC did a good job not making the changes too apparent. The show is actually pretty similar to the old Tonight Show, and that's what I enjoyed watching for 17 years.
Marvo301 09-14-2009, 10:48 PM I will definitely be tuning in later tonight. I've missed Jay the last three months and can't wait to see his new show.
catlover79 09-15-2009, 12:14 AM I wish the monologue had been longer and that they had the Headlines right after that, but maybe once time goes on...It was also great to see the band back together - Kevin, Smitty, Vicki, Gerry, etc. :D

I can see why NBC split up the monologue and Headlines for the beginning and end of the show, and its actually a smart idea. But, maybe in the future we'll see 2 of Jay's comedy bits in one show - maybe like Headlines at the end, and Jaywalking after the monologue, or something like that.
Loved the band, and the new set was great, exactly what I was hoping it would be. I did miss John Melendez, though. The new announcer had no excitement whatsoever, and kinda ruined the opening.
Overall, though, a good show. Jay did a great job, and the whole Kanye thing was done well. Jerry and Oprah were great, and I'm just glad NBC gave us the option for a show like Jay at 10pm.
TVFactFan 09-15-2009, 01:06 AM I'm going to have catch tomorrow because when it started the Pats and Bills were in the 4th Qtr
Marvo301 09-15-2009, 02:06 AM I was just glad to get my Monday headlines fix! Who cares when in the show they were placed. It was great to see Jay back on TV and great to see the band back together.

You can watch episodes of it on The Jay Leno Show's website. Here is a link to the first show last night. You can watch the whole thing, COMMERCIAL FREE too.

Wreckless 09-15-2009, 07:59 AM What other comedy segments did Jay have in the past, besides headlines & jaywalking? Two things: I would like to see jaywalking come back in the future and I wish he still had John Melendez on his team. Kevin was great though, and I loved the first show. Can't wait for many more. Jay is back!
Wreckless 09-15-2009, 08:01 AM The only thing Solomon, that I hate/will happen when you watch the episodes on the site, you get no commercials, but you'll get 2 .30 second ads in between, then it will go back to the show where you left off, and not back to the beginning again.
Wreckless 09-15-2009, 08:15 AM the obama interview was hilarious LOL
the car wash part wasn't bad, but wasn't really that funny. they had to have kanye on their too.
Schmoopie 09-15-2009, 12:22 PM What did you guys think about Jerry Seinfeld's interview? I thought it was way too short but that bit with Oprah was pretty funny, with him and Oprah just carrying on, while Jay tries to get in a word edgewise! Maybe it's just me, but Jerry looked kind of strange in that tux, like it was the wrong size for him. He's worn a tux on "Seinfeld" before and those look better than the one he wore last night.
I miss Jay's desk, that's for sure. It's just not the same without one.

So obama was interviewed?
catlover79 09-15-2009, 01:43 PM So obama was interviewed?
They had a fake interview - they took snippets from Obama's interview with 60 Minutes and had Jay "interview" him.
