Yeah, I almost left for good, this past January/February lol. That's one of the reasons why I am posting about this/asking. Cause I know if I were him, I would want people to be worried about me, and wonder why I left and how I am doing, maybe. But right, people come and go too.

Yeah, I noticed she made one post last weekend and got excited that she was back. But she hasn't posted anything since.

Another member I miss is MusicJunkie. He also up and left without a word and last posted Nov. 2008.

I was wondering what happened to Bo (BarneyFife) as well. We used to PM each other, but I stopped checking in so often and then I think when I came back, he was gone. He really was a funny guy.

We recently had a similiar thread as this, and like all similiar threads before that, ended up getting locked. Many members leave because their lives get busy with school, kids, work, boredom, etc. Other members leave because of disagreements. This thread will not revisit past disputes. If it heads in that direction, sorry, but it gets locked, just as all the threads before it.

Yea that is so true. Members leave for a variety of reasons and some leave over disagreements with other members. Some members have even bumped up these type of threads on purpose just to start trouble. Some things should just remain private. There are a lot of hurt feelings that can come out of threads like these if people aren't careful.

I hate these threads! WHO THE HELL CARES? I love it when somebody says, "I miss ________" Well if they missed you, they would stay in contact with you. I know if I walked away today, there are a few people I would always stay in contact with. That's life. People come and people go.

I wanted to know cause he didn't even specify. I told people on FB why I was off SO, when I wasn't posting for 3/4 months last Jan-April. None of his friends or people he talked to via the PMs even explained why he left. It's called trying to figure it out, without having to speculate. I understand Janice. I'm not trying to start any fights. I really was just curious about BF. He was an enthusiastic poster, that's all.

I see what you mean. Sometimes complicated situations arise and people leave because of them - or sometimes people leave because they get busy with life and don't have time to post. I can see why people don't always feel comfortable with having these sorts of discussions which somewhat bring up the past - however, I think that as long as people are careful and post wisely, then a thread like this can carry on with no harm done.

I see what you're saying, but I also think that it's natural for people to be curious when someone who was posting for quite a while left without any explanation. Some people do care and just want to know. I know threads like these can be a bit dodgy, but I think as long as people are careful not to bring up past disputes then the thread shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I nearly left inthe00s.com, which is a blog site because I used a bad word, but I referred it to myself and I got a lot of heat.

I threatened to leave the site, but I insisted of staying away for 100 days. I also got banned from retrojunk.com and later got an appeal to stay. I stayed away from that site for 4 months.

And since this year was a bad year, I'm going to probably stay away from bcdb.com for 100 days.

Well, I got the chance to talk to Irene about three weeks ago. She is doing fine. She sat in on a sitcom taping. I will leave it there. Still to this day do I know why she left but I may have an idea as to why.

For myself, I am like one of those characters on TV who is still part of the cast but appears occasionally (on the boards) because I am pursuing other ventures in my career. LOL.

I left because of the stupid anti-virus popup. I finally blocked the thing when I saw it on another site.


I threatened to leave the site, but I insisted of staying away for 100 days. I also got banned from retrojunk.com and later got an appeal to stay. I stayed away from that site for 4 months.

RetroJunk was never good, it's just a bunch of nerds arguing about the past and whining about anything current. They also have really odd obsessions with certain things on there... like the signal tones for commercial VHS tapes, I mean WTF?

I also gave up on the whole closing logo thing because when you really think about it, it's really stupid. On YouTube it was sort of interesting at first because some of them were no longer in use and I had not seen them since the very late 80s or early 90s, but when people start making parodies of the Screen Gems S and keep claiming that the DiC kid-in-bed was scary, it kind of loses its novelty. Okay, it's one thing when you're in your teens to obsess over things like this, but when you are GROWN, it's silly.

I've moved on to watching video of ghetto braid shops, old commercials and footage of old Sega CD and Sega Saturn game cutscenes because let's admit it, there's nothing good on YouTube anymore.
