View Full Version : These statements today by Michael Jordan is why I never liked him
TVFactFan 09-11-2009, 06:25 PM "I'm sure if the Bulls had stayed together for the 99 season we would have beaten the Spurs"
"There will never be another Michael Jordan"
How the f*ck does he know if they woyuld have beaten the Spurs?
And someone should tell him that He is not supposed to say it will never be another MJ, someone else is
GARFIELDKOOL 09-11-2009, 07:35 PM His supporting cast had flaws, most of them were role players. Jordan made Scottie look good. Hell, they barely escaped the Knicks in 93, Charles Smith just went up soft. Jordan himself beat the Jazz in those two finals, not the Bulls.

The 98 Bulls team was the weakest out of the 6 championship teams
Wreckless 09-11-2009, 08:33 PM Those are cocky statements, so I agree with you that he isn't Mr. Nice Guy all the time. He was never a troublemaker, or a bad player, I think he just had confidence in his craft, in his team and in himself. Michael is the GOAT regardless though. Great day for the NBA.

Kobe will have more Rings at the end and then he will be the GOAT
Wreckless 09-11-2009, 08:39 PM Kobe will have more Rings at the end and then he will be the GOAT
You are smoking crack. Kobe couldn't win sh*t until Shaq got their. He has one now, cause he has hairy ass, I won't shave until I'm 84 Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and a better lineup around him, then Michael did. Michael is the GOAT. Kobe is probably #6 or 7 on that list, all-time, maybe even lower.
Wreckless 09-11-2009, 08:42 PM But arguments aside, Michael didn't win any without Pippen, Pippen couldn't win any without Michael, Kobe couldn't win any without 4 other great starters next to him. See besides Scotty who was a good player, but not great, the Bulls had complimentary players, little puzzle piece players that fit the Bulls scheme, and they had a great coach too, but Michael was the team. Michael won 6 championships with his Bull teams, and he won the NBA Finals MVP all 6 times. Kobe won back to back to back championships with Shaq & the Lakers in the early 2000's, but who won all 3 Finals MVP awards at that time when they won? Shaq won them all. Sh*t, if Michael had a Gasol, Odom etc. he would of won more as well too.

So i Kobe gets 3 more rings will he be above jordan?
He can do it since he has 8 years left

If Kobe wins 3 more rings with one good player and not bad players around him, like Jordan had, and he gets all 3 NBA Finals MVP awards for the 3 rings, I will respect his game more, but Jordan would still be up 6-4, Finals MVP wise.
Wreckless 09-11-2009, 08:49 PM So to add to my comments, if Kobe gets 5 rings, and 5 NBA Finals MVP awards, in a span of how many more years he plays (maybe we'll say 8 more years), he will have 6 Finals MVP awards like Jordan, and 2 more rings if I am correct. If he does that, and plays at a high mark in the regular season, I will rightfully CROWN Kobe. Until then, Jordan is by far the best. I don't think what I just put up for Kobe to be able to do, to be crowned, will happen though.
GARFIELDKOOL 09-11-2009, 10:02 PM The way I see it is this
Scottie couldn't be a leader in Jordan's absence...Jordan made Scottie a better player. Scottie is the greatest sidekick to have ever played the game.
As great as a player Kobe is, he is no MJ. Yes, the Lakers won it all this year, and not to discredit their championship, but no other team was good this year.
Also, Jordan use to push off many defenders.....because he was Michael Jordan, nobody "saw" it.

They play just alike to me

Then again, had MJ not retired the first time, would the Houston Rockets have won the World Titles in 1993-94 and 1994-95 (yes, I know that Jordan came back, but he was still rusty)?
Wreckless 09-13-2009, 09:57 AM People also forget, a few years Michael also shot over .50 percent on his FGs. That is amazing!! When will you ever see a non-big man ever do that again in the NBA? I bet never. And it wasn't like he shot 10 shots a game. You know Michael was on his grind. That's one of the reasons he is the Greatest of all Time. You can't match that. Kobe, Iverson etc. none of these cats can even come close to that.

Jordan never even played on a winning team without Pippen. All five of Jordan's Pippen-less teams had losing records.
Jordan's career playoff record without Scottie Pippen is 1 win and 10 losses.
Jordan never made it out of the first round of the playoffs without Pippen.
Jordan never even made the all-defensive team without Pippen. The Bulls were never regarded as a good defensive team with just Jordan there. Once Pippen and Grant came on the scene, the Bulls defense improved, and Jordan got the credit for it. Even in 1991, Phil Jackson had to switch Pippen over to guard Magic Johnson, because Jordan was getting torched. That turned the series in the Bulls favor, and they won 4 straight after losing the opener.
Jordan's the GOAT? After he retired in 1993, the 1994 Bulls won 55 games, only two less than they won the year before, with Jordan. Pippen made all stars out of Horace Grant and B J Armstrong. Grant (16 years) and Armstrong (11 years) played a combined 27 seasons in the NBA, and the ONLY time they made the all star team was the year that Jordan wasn't there to "make them better".
Not only did the Bulls' win total drop by only 2 after losing supposedly the GOAT, the 1994 Bulls (without Jordan) allowed fewer points per game and held their opponents to a LOWER FG percentage than the 1993 Bulls, with Jordan. Everyone predicted the total collapse of the Bulls in 1994, they'd be lucky to win 15 games... that prediction only missed by 40.
The 1994 Bulls even got out of the first round without Jordan, something Jordan was never able to do without Pippen.
Pippen also made the all-defensive team even without Jordan around (something Jordan never did without Pippen and Grant/Rodman). Pippen even made all-defense with Portland and Houston, meaning he played defense no matter where he was.
Was Jordan the best shooter ever to play the game? No
Was Jordan the best passer ever to play the game? No
Was Jordan the best rebounder ever to play the game? No
Was Jordan the best defensive player ever to play the game? No
Did Jordan win more titles than anyone who ever played the game? No, didn't even come close
Did Jordan ever play on a losing team? Yes, he played on FIVE of them...that's a heck of a record for a guy who's supposed to be the GOAT
Did Pippen ever play on a losing team? Not in his 16 full seasons. He retired part of the way into his final season, and the Bulls had a losing record that year.
Did Jordan win more MVP awards than anyone who ever played the game? No
Did Jordan ever become so dominant that the league felt the need to re-write the rule books to control him (as they've done with other guys)? No, in fact the rules were re-written to make the game easier for Jordan... David Stern even moved the 3 point line in for one reason... Jordan couldn't hit a 3 pointer if his life depended on it... when the line was at it's original distance, Jordan shot .173 .167 .182 .132 .276 .376 .312 .270 and .352 When the line was moved in, he shot .427 and .374, his two best full seasons... then after the line was moved back out, he was back to his old self, shooting in the teens and twenties.
So what exactly was Jordan the best at? A: Marketing.
And Kobe's not #6 or #7. He's lower. There are about 8 players who have an argument to be called the best player ever, and Kobe's not one of them.
