I don't even watch Nickelodeon anymore, because they've taken away the good old shows and replaced them with terrible shows...man what happened to Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, and YCDTOT???? Jeez...and they've cancelled the Nick Birthday Special this year anyway...I'm so damn angry!

You can't honestly expect those shows to last forever. They really weren't that great and I personally don't miss them at all. I liked watching them when they were on, but the cast grew up and I did too.

Either way, those shows are way better than anything they air today!
They need to bring back YCDTOTV, or at least release it on DVD!

I agree that Nickolodeon S.U.C.K.S big time now! It used to have pizazz, now it's just a tired, sleeper network! :o I wouldn't be surprised if it went out of business.

shows are getting stupid and kids are getting dumber watching them.

I miss that show soooooo much!! Ted was my FAVORITE. I was seriously in love with the guy! I cried when he left the series (hey, what can I say...I was like...9? lol) Yeah..Im 18 now and watch him on Sabrina..hes so hot!

nick has definitely changed. but so have the times. and nick's audience is kids. the shows have to reach the current generation. the shows weren't that great back in the day (maybe they still aren't, i don't watch it either), but there was that "something" about them that made you want to watch them. i still think there should be a channel that shows old nick shows. there was nothing like 'em on tv. that may be a good thing or a bad thing.

Yes, new nickelodeon sucks, but I'm sorry, Hey Dude always sucked. I hated that show.

Speaking of Nickelodian, has anyone ever heard of a show that used to be on Nick. about this department store where the manakin (sic) came alive at night? lol, I know it sounds dumb, but I remember watching it when I was a kid. I thought it was called Midnight Special, but I can't remember...does anyone else remember this show?

*laffs* oh yes, i remember that. it was called today's special and the mannequin was white, jodi, the store clerk was black, sam, the security guard, was a puppet and muffy the mouse/rat was a puppet as well. i LOVED this show! you dont hear about it much. but i remember it came on nick (right before or after pinwheels) and a public tv station. :D

Good to know it wasn't all in my head! lol...I would kinda like to see an episode of that again, just because I remember it from childhood. Someone mentioned Legends of the Hidden Temple too..I totally remembered that! I remember how no one could ever get through the temple at the end. And the show Finder's Keepers..my husband thinks Im crazy when I talk about that show (he thinks I'm lying). I'm glad there are other people that remember all this Nick. shows..hehe Take care!:wave:

You are SO right callmetootie! Lol I'm 21 and I'd still be watching Nickelodeon if Hey Dude was still on, no joke. Those other shows were awesome too, a definite part of my childhood!

In my opinion, some of the shows WERE good. I loved YCDTOT, especially goofy Allister!!! I loved when the people got slimed, hey speaking of slimed what about DOUBLE DARE!! I used to love that as well, with Mark Summers as the host. I remember when Nick showed the Monkeys, the Dobie Gillis show, oh, and I loved Pattie Duke!!!! :wave:

The kids today are missing out. Old School NICK was the best hands down. I used to SNICK every Saturday night and enjoyed the quality of their original programming. The cartoons were good also too. Today, when I visit NICK's site to see what's popping, I just shake my head and laugh. Get a new program director, let the kids enjoy what we used to enjoy NICK

Nick @ Nite is the only reason i watch Nickelodeon, there's nothing like late- night sitcoms!

I don't even watch NAN that much anymore. I do every now and again.

The new shows on Nick are horrible. Making Fiends is the worste. I believe that it did not last more than a month. The characters were terrible, the story line was terrible, and the animation looked like constructionpaper taped to a copier. Heck, it probably was. Either way the old 90's shows were so much better. New shows rely completely on itiotic characters doing stupid thing to make a story. Then the humor whithin the story is based upon the characters making more stupid mistakes. Back then the shows had a story-line that would be great by itself. Also, the animations were better back then. Now the drawings look like they were drew by a 5 year old... Recently El Tigre came on and started to bring nick out of the cold dark cave it was going into, and then they cancel it.

All I have to say is goodbye Nickelodean, it is going to go out of business real soon.:wave:

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I searched up 'Nickelodeon is bad' on Google and it brought me here. Now I'm only young and have been watching Nick since the late 90's and I'm sure that's where it all started going downhill.
Shows like Angry Beavers, Doug, Clarissa Explains it All and some other ones are a million times better than the rubbish on today like Big Time Rush, Victorious, House of Anubis (what the heck?). It all got terrible since the release of Drake and Josh. Even Spongebob is boring now.
