LONDON, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- The surviving members of the British pop band the Bee Gees plan to reunite on stage for a series of live concerts, Robin Gibb said.

The news that Robin and Barry Gibb will once again perform together comes six years after their brother and fellow group member Maurice Gibb died at age 53 of complications resulting from a twisted intestine.

Shortly after Maurice's death, his surviving siblings vowed they would not sing together under the Bee Gees name. They later said they would reconsider doing so when the time is right.

"The two of us are getting back together again as we speak," Robin Gibb told BBC Radio, adding that he and Barry had "got through the breakwater of emotions" following their brother's death.

"It's an emotional thing when you lose someone that close," he added.

Robin Gibb told the BBC in June 2008, five years after Maurice Gibb died, the Bee Gees may some day reunite.

That's wonderful news!! :D I was wondering when Barry and Robin were going to collaborate again. I know they've both been busy with solo projects (as well as Barry's work with Barbra Streisand's Guilty Pleasures), and even though Maurice will be deeply missed, I know he will be remembered with love. I wish Barry and Robin all the best!! :cool: :D

I think that its great that Barry and Robin will reunite.:) However, out of respect for Maurice, they should not use the Bee Gees name. They should just use their own names.
