I've heard of the chain, but I've never seen one in my area. I prefer pizza from independently-owned restaurants.

I'm with you, Dominos, Pappa John's all taste like gourmet cardboard.

I had heard from other people that it wasn't very good, but my friend's mother loves it. I've only had it when somebody ordered a few pies at work, and I tried it. It wasn't the best, so it certainly wouldn't be my 1st choice when ordering pizza.

I don't know how they stay in business, either. There are obviously a large group of people who actually like it.

I'm with you!! I can eat Domino's & Pizza Hut but there are also Odyssey & Bizzarro's in our area. Odyssey they put tons of mozz on their pizzas, and Bizzarro's sells the huge NY style pieces of pizza.:liplick::rock:

Just go with local pizza places.

There's this one place that we go to and almost every Saturday we get a pizza there.

I love when independent places give themselves cute names. I love word play. There used to be a pizza place in Orlando called Sgt. Pepperoni's. Kinda like the chinese place called "Wok and Roll"!;)

My favorite Pizza of all time was Godfathers Pizza. I used to call up a sports radio show in the 1980's and answer the trivia questions and win me free Godfathers Pizza's...maybe I put them out of business. Soon after all the stores in our area closed down and I haven't seen any since.

Godfather's is still around, I see them once in a while around the country. Can't think of off-hand where exactly I've seen them though.

Man was I disappointed.

Their commercials were hilarious though.

I actually like Papa John's.

Personally, I think Little Caesars is the worst major pizza place- their cheese is almost non-existent, and it feels like their pizza is really just bread and sauce.

They do have good breadsticks and wings, though.

One just re-opened in my area last summer... Last summer as in '08. There was one here before that, but they were in two different locations.

I like Papa Johns myself. Its good but I think there are better pizza's like Pizza Hut for instance. Here in Kalamazoo there is this great Italian place called Martini's and all of their food is homemade, and their pizza is sensational. Its a bit pricey but so worth it.

The only pizza places I like where I live are a place called Nick's pizza(damn good) and Fat Cat's pizza.

We now have a Little Ceasar's pizza, it's good, but the sauce is a bit too spicy for me(I have acid reflux disease)

When I went to college my freshman year, all the people in the dorm went on and on about PJs. I tried it and was like O_o. The breadsticks were burnt pieces of just bread (no seasoning at ALL), the pizza was blah...yeah, the only PJs I've had since was at work because it was free pizza.

I like so many other places so much better.

I agree with those who said the independent ones are the best. There is a Garlic Jim's by my house that is takeout/delivery only. Not sure if it's independant, but my husband and I only order from there occasionally. We always have to order extra sauce becuase they seem to be pretty stingy with it. Otherwise, I would never order extra sauce on a pizza! Usually, places put too much!

I've never tried Papa John's but it's probably just as good as those other chain places, which isn't saying much. However I do like Papa Murphy's. If you go there just before closing, you can get pretty good deals.

 lol no I don't. I don't think it tastes like cardboard though lol. I think the school lunch pizzas tasted like cardboard. PH & PJ's just taste good to me. Some people prefer different things, which is fine. I like any kind of pizza. Independently owned, the chain pizza places I mentioned and anything else. My Dad only likes the independently owned pizzas they make, and likes it paper thin, no thick pizza lol.

I've heard of Rocky's but have never eated there. There's also a place called Monical's which is mostly in the Ill. area and I think Indiana. Then there's Donato's, which I've seen a few in Ohio.

No offense, but I'd think that since you live in the northeast, you'd have a slew of independent eating establishments, especially pizza places!! Or is that hoagie & cheese steak places I'm thinking of?!!:D

Actually I like to make homemade pizza, too, but instead of making the crust, I cheat and just buy the Boboli's pizza "shell", pizza sauce, pepperonis, and mozz cheese. Yeah, but I figure, after the money you spend buying all that, you're just better off buying either a pizza already made up from the store or one from a pizza place!!;)

Papa John's is OK, but only when it's plain. I find their toppings to be HORRIBLE, which sucks because I love a good pepperoni pizza. Dominoes is a better "cheap" pizza.

Papa John's is stingy with their toppings which is one reason why I don't care for them. The only good thing I can say is that they will deliver to areas that Dominos and Pizza Hut won't.

I had Pizza Hut the other day. I got a side with it, and had 1/2 slices right then and their. lol I wrapped the rest up and stuck it in my fridge (I have a mini fridge in my room but it's too small, otherwise I would of stuck it in their to begin with). I found out my Grandma when she was cleaning out the fridge, must of threw away the perfectly good pizza. lol she must of thought it was old or something.

They're both quite terrible, truthfully.I would only eat
either one if I were in a situation where nothing else
were available to eat.For my money,I would say that
you'd be better off going to independent pizza
parlors and stay away from these two huge franchises.
