Just reading through it (was able to find it in good condition and cheaply ;) ) and there's a cool story about Marlo...Aparently, they had begun to call her Margo for short and when she said her name, she said Marlo and that stuck for her professional name.

Go figure and how cool eh?:happyface

I found a copy for only 50 cents, at the local annual library book sale. I am
really enjoying it. Danny was one of a kind and had a very interesting life.
Lots of funny stories in it.

The book finally explained about why those Jean Hagen episodes are never seen. Danny and her did not get along at all. She was a pain in the ass and he couldn't stand her. That's why the first four seasons of the show have been virtually buried.

That's a shame. I heard that she was the first TV spouse in a sitcom to be killed off - is that true?

From all accounts and research I have done, I believe that this is true indeed. What I find funny is that when I talk about this series with my parents, who grew up watching it in the 1950s, Marjorie Lord is the only wife they remember Danny having on the series.
