View Full Version : Anyone interested for deep-fried butter?
bossradio93 09-05-2009, 05:16 AM And you thought you seen it all fried! Bacon, candy bars, even cola!! I love fried foods myself (depending on what they are) but this is gone to extremes! The local state fair in Texas is dishing up deep-fried butter when the fair opens on September 25th.

This is too much!

The segment was on Countdown with Keith Olbermann Friday, (9/4) during the "Oddball" feature.
ZeldaGilroy 09-05-2009, 06:38 AM That video actually made me feel sick to watch. Why on earth would anyone want to deep fry butter? Or bacon, cola, candy, PBJ for that matter? I am not a huge fan of fried foods anyway, but that is just gross in my opinion. The deep fried bacon they showed looked disgusting and although the fried butter didn't look awful, the thought of it is sickening. Maybe I am wrong and it tastes delicious, but I'd rather not find out for myself!
sunshinefizzy 09-05-2009, 08:37 AM I'm having a heart attack just thinking about it!!!
phoebe7165 09-05-2009, 10:25 AM It just looks like you'd be eating a small donut but with buttery goodness in the middle!:p I'd try it but I don't do well with fried foods so much anymore.
catlover79 09-05-2009, 11:23 AM No thanks. puke:
MickeyMac 09-05-2009, 01:44 PM I like fried foods but deep fried butter-no thanks puke:
DLevine2 09-05-2009, 09:46 PM No thank you! I'm trying not to have clogged arteries. I like other fried food but not fried butter. :barf:
Brieannas21 09-05-2009, 11:12 PM Well I tried the fried coke, pickles, snickers, oreo and twinkie. I might as well try to butter this year  You only live once.
Schmoopie 09-06-2009, 03:48 AM Leave it to my birthplace of Texas to invent something like this! I still don't get how they would even do it. I'm still trying to figure out deep fried ice cream!!!
BTW, the Texas State fair is absolutely HUGE! I've been to it probably 20 times and it takes several hours to go through the whole thing, but I looked foreword to it every year!
Brieanna, how did that other fried stuff taste?

Now I've had fried ice cream. Very tasty, and not too bready. It's almost like eating ice cream with like a graham cracker crust over it. I know alot of the mexican restaurants sell it.

Everything was good except for the fried coke. The fried coke had fried coke flavored dough balls with a coke syrup drizzled over it with whipped cream on top. It was way too sweet, and it did not taste good. My little girls wouldn't even eat it. But my favorite was the fried pickles and the fried snickers.

Gosh, I remember those from Chi-Chi's, when it was still around.
Schmoopie 09-07-2009, 12:18 AM The more I think about that fried butter the more nausiating it sounds!

Family Ties Forever! 09-07-2009, 03:25 AM Fried Butter = yuck!
How do you fry cola? Wait...on second thought, I don't want to know.
I remember having a teacher tell our class one day while in high school that doughnuts were fried bread. I didn't know that. I refused to eat doughnuts for months after that.

I remember a few years ago making a post asking how you would fry ice cream. I asked because ice cream melts.
Schmoopie 09-08-2009, 02:28 AM I emailed this article to my brother who (like me) was born and raised in Texas and still lives there, and even he said it was "sick"!!!!puke:
Actually this could be a good dieting mechanism. All I have to do before thinking about putting butter on something is think about eating deep fried butter and it completely turns me off. So they may have something here! ;)
Schmoopie 09-21-2009, 04:31 AM The other night Jay Leno was talking about this and he said "Those aren't chefs! They're MURDERS!!!"
