The first trivia thread was a huge success so thought I would start another to test everyone's UM knowledge. Here are a few I've thought of. Everyone feel free to post any UM trivia questions you can think of.

What was the occupation of the man who wandered into the cave where Gary Simmon's body was found?

What type of business was Annette Burnsides working at when she was murdered?

What type of work was Jim Burnsides doing when he was captured?

What did Dennis DePue tell his girlfriend to prepare for him for his trip when he left abruptly? Where did he tell his girlfriend he was going?

Okay those aren't too tough so I think a lot of people will know the answers.

Hi Crystaldawn! I'm going to take a shot at the quiz but I'm not sure I have all of the right answers.
1. Bus driver
2. Car dealership
3. Flea market
4. Seems like Dennis DuPue asked his girlfriend to make some sandwiches for him to take with him. Bologna sandwiches? No wait, maybe that was Parm Gilbert, Anyway, I think he wanted some food to take with him on his trip, but I can't remember where he said he was going.

Hey rerungirl! :) Good job. I'll add a few comments since I asked the questions. The man who found Gary Simmons' was a school bus driver. I believe Jim Burnside was working construction at a flea market. I'm not sure what kind, but Dennis DePue did want his girlfriend to make him sandwiches and pack cans of pop.

Okay a few more for you guys.

What was found near Aileen Conway's burning car that was believed to have belonged to her?

What was Jule Caylor's occupation?

How many times had Gayle Delano been divorced? What was the occupation of the man she made friends with and called late at night? What was the name of Gayle Delano's dad?

I'm not sure if this next one made it to Lifetime but it was on the original airing of the Rick Church segment. What two characteristics about Rick Church's face did Robert Stack mention in describing him while he was still on the run?

Those are actually harder than you'd think, CD! :) It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure Gayle Delano became buddies with a radio DJ...

Good job. In the right ballpark about Caylor. He was an entomologist.

How many times had Gayle Delano been divorced? What was the occupation of the man she made friends with and called late at night? What was the name of Gayle Delano's dad?

"Gayle Delano was twice divorced and the mother of two teenage boys..." I can hear that as clear as day in my head. Her dad's name was Platt Monfort.

Yes, very good! I also remembered Platt's name because it was so unusual.

As far as the earlier question about Rick Church at the end of the original segment (before he was captured) Robert Stack mentions he has a unibrow and he is apparently unable to grow a full beard.

Dangit all. Who's dog was named Killer?

I remember a husband who presented a "goodbye" letter from his missing wife where she ended with "Take care of Killer for me." For some reason, I thought it was Pam Page.

Edit:

Okay, I think I got it. Pam Page's dog was named Rerun.

But I'm still stumped on who Killer belonged to. Any ideas?

Okay, I have to really think and dig for some hard ones. Here's an easy one: Name the two separate segments where separate murders were tied together due to socks.

Anyone want to play again? I kinda do. :)

1. What did Dennis Walker teach "at a small Oregon college" before starting his investment company?

2. What color scheme was painted onto Michael Hunter's motorcycle?

3. What wanted individual's accent is alternately described as "French Caribbean" and "Ethiopian"?

Wasn't it dark-on-light (something like red/purple/yellow/white)?

In 1984, Dave Bocks went missing from his place of employment, the NLO uranium processing plant in Ohio. His partial remains were later discovered in a furnace on the property.

1) By what other name was the NLO facility also known?

2) Bocks may have been murdered for being a whistleblower. What nefarious activity was NLO participating in?

3) What year was NLO shut down?

Random qs:

1) Which UM figure (not interviewed) went on a liquid diet?

2) Which UM interviewee went on a crash diet and lost over 200 pounds?

3)Which segment featured a glorious bargain: Beers were only a nickle!

4) Which UM fugitive received chiropractic training?

5) Which segment featured a man being shot at simply for greeting a stranger in the woods?

Right on all counts!

I'm glad that Mulet was caught, too. And that the guy he fired at wasn't harmed!

Some really easy ones:

1) Blair Adams was found dead under suspicious circumstances in 1996. He apparently hadn't been robbed, as he had about $4,000 in currency in his possession at the time.

The cash was from which three countries?

2) David Young and his wife held 154 students and teachers for ransom at the Cokeville Elementary school, using a homemade bomb as one of his weapons.

How much ransom did he demand to release the hostages?

AND

How many people were killed during the standoff?

3) Lois Gibson was featured on UM as a sketch artist with an amazing ability to draw accurate sketches from witnesses' descriptions.

Before she became a police sketch artist, in what field was Lois hoping to work?

Just him and his wife thankfully. That was the perfect outcome to that case.

I'll try my best:

1. About what exactly was the show Unsolved Mysteries?

2. When there was news about a case after the original broadcast, what did term did they use to describe this news?

3. Of whom was the longest-running host of Unsolved Mysteries?

1 and 2 are correct, but 3 is actually Frank Stallone. Don hosted the pilot and two specials before being succeeded by Charo for 3 episodes. After Charo's stint, Frank hosted the show for the remaining 35 years of its run.

Just curious Meg, whom was the girl in your photo before it morphed into Bonnie Wilder?

Got it.

That was Christi Nichols in a photo that wasn't shown in the segment, but that the Nebraska State Patrol uses in bulletins and such concerning her case.

Also, Ed O'Neill as "Al Bundy" began helping Stallone with the hosting duties for Seasons 26 through 35.

thanks, just hadn't seen that photo before

That's right! I remember seeing him on the Live From the Telecenter 15 episode co-hosting from the call center with Sherman Hemsley.

No problem. I hope so much her case is solved someday.
