I was looking this show up on IMDB and was reading the message board. Someone on the boards said the reason Charlotte Ray left the show was because the girls weren't getting along and were becoming really catty and jealous and stuff. I can't believe this, because on all the bios about this show, the castmembers and even the crewmembers said the girls all really got along and were close friends. In fact, someone pointed out that this was one of the few instances where an all-female cast were able to get along and were never jealous. I'm sort of new to IMDB, so I can't really say what's true and what isn't. But I always thought these ladies were close.

I definitely don't think that's true. I've always heard that all of the girls were really close and that Charlotte Rae took care of them like a maternal figure. The person posting it was probably making it up.

True Hollywood Story about Facts where Charlotte Rae personally stated that she left the show because she felt that the girls had grown and matured to such a point that they were confiding much more in each other than they were in "Mrs. Garrett" and that she felt her character of "Mrs. G." would continue to be diminished if she stayed with the show. Personally, I couldn't have agreed with her more. I think the characters had definitely outgrown "Mrs. Garrett" by the time Charlotte left the show. As for the "cattiness" rumor, this is the first I've heard of that one but I personally agree with everybody else, that it's probably hogwash.

In my experience the IMDB message boards aren't exactly a reliable source of information. And since I've never heard, seen , or read this anywhere else I'm going to assume it's untrue.

It's not true. I remember Mindy Cohn averting to say something like the E True Hollywood Story tried to find more s---t on the show than there actually was. They were all good friends and there was no cats fights on the set, unless you count the exchanges between Blair and Jo :P

But yeah, there are a lot of trolls on IMDB that just like to stir s---t up.

Yeah, I kinda' figured they were all really close in real life. I have read that Lisa and Nancy were and still are the best of friends, which is why they worked so well together on the show. You can even seem them breaking character from time to time and almost breaking a laugh.

Yeah I remember reading that in the transcript of the FOL E!THS (because it's not online anywhere). I also, couldn't have agreed with her more. However, right after Charlotte's departure they should've shown the girls living on their own and not bringing Beverly Ann in at all. This would've further proved that the girls could confide in each other without having someone there to keep an eye on them. I know that Beverly Ann's role was a little different from Mrs. G's in that she was there to provide the comic relief and didn't have as many heart-to-hearts with the girls as Mrs. G did but overall her job was to look after the girls, which is what Mrs. G did. Also this show was made possible because of Charlotte Rae; it would've been a better idea to either continue the show with the girls on their own (maybe Bev could've been a guest star from time to time?) or end the show at Out of Peekskill. It would've shown more respect to Charlotte's character and show that she couldn't be replaced :) .

I kinda agree with that. I never did like Beverly Ann that much at all. She was not funny and she didn't really fit well with the rest of the cast.

I totally agree. Although, I would be interested to know about the times when they didn't get along. I can't help it, I find them all so interesting and want to know everything about them. They all just blow me away with their awesomeness. :lol: That's the only TV show I loved as a child that I still love as an adult. And it wasn't even my favorite TV show when I was a child, but it's my favorite now.
