 I have been expiriencing a problem with disc 5 of Petticoat Junction. In the episode "There's No Stove Like an Old Stove". During the scene where Kate is trying to call to stop The Cannonball to deliver the new stove, her rival Selma Plout is on the phone giving her friend a recipe of Kate's, the picture freezes. I've tried it on other players and the same thing happens at the same place. I saw a scratch on the disc. I guess it was a very deep scratch. Is anybody else who has season 2 expiriencing this problem?

I haven't reached disc 5 yet. But I hope mine doesn't have that problem. I've had that problem on other TV show discs though. I'll look at disc 5 to see if there are any visible scratches.

I'm pretty sure I watched it. I didn't have problems with disc 5, must be an isolated incident. I hope you can get a replacement disc!

I didn't experience any problems with any of the discs in this set.

It seems as though CBS Entertainment was careless about presentation in regards to this set. I bought this set at a Wal-Mart, and because I have been screwed over so many times before, and have had to return/exchange DVD's, I opened the package while I was in the parking lot and inspected all of the discs. On all of the discs, there were a series of small hairline scratches on each disc. And so I went back into the store and asked to exchange it. They only had one left, so I exchanged the "bad" one for the last one. When I got back to the car, I inspected the second set. When I inspected the second set, I noticed that this one too had small hairline scratches on all the discs, yet it wasn't as bad as the first set. Fearful that I might "miss out" if I don't settle for the second set that I had, I left with that one. It's very disappointing and shameful that a little care and consideration are not included in a thirty dollar purchase (not cheap by todays standards). Always be watchful, and never hesitate to return something if it is not to your standards. These things are massed produced using the cheapest of materials so that they can go further using less and collecting more profit.

I also noticed that when I bought "The Lucy Show, Season one" the same small, hairline scratches that appeared on my exchanged Petticoat Junction set appeared on there. That was also $30 and was from CBS Entertainment. This is shameful. But your options are to either exchange the product at the store or call the distributors and request that they solve your quality issues.
