I saw the advertisements in the Radio Shack circular and I thought it was a generic brand. I figured the brands to get would be DELL or TOSHIBA

I don't have one. I know three people who have them and they say they work pretty good but my friends use them mostly for web surfing.

Had an Acer for about a month, then it completely died on me. It's a cheap brand, wouldn't recommend it. Now I have a Toshiba, which works fantastic.

My mom has a laptop and I have a desktop. :thumbsup: I think it's a good brand. Better than Dell.

We've had an Acer laptop for about 2 years and it works very well.

Can't speak to the quality of the laptops, but I've had two Acer desktops. Got the first in 1995 - that thing was like a tank. Lasted five years. Still ran well when it was sold, it was just too outdated. The current computer at the house is an Acer from '08, and aside from the keyboard absolutely no complaints on my part.
