What do you predict will be the 2 new sitcoms from the 1960s joining the TV Land line-up in 2010?

My prediction is-

Gilligan's Island
Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.

The only way we will see any 1960's on TVLand is if they fire their current staff.

There are 2 series that started in the 1960s that will be joining the TV Land line-up in 2010. According to TVLTheLink at tvland.com, one will be starting in April and the other one possibly in January.

lol exactly. And Gunsmoke. And Bonanza. And The Beverly Hillbillies. Leave it to Beaver is from the 50s.

TVLand's problem isn't necessarily the shows they air but the fact that they air the same ones so freaking much.

True when TVLand does show 1960's televsion they show the same ones over and over again. Get rid of all the shows that were made past the mid 70's, and all those crappy reality shows and go back to airing the classics.

Nice dream huh???

TVLand should get an award!

The most banal, unimaginative and lowest energy programming possible for the last 5 years. If they had one brain in their collective heads, they'd go REALLY retro and once again have the really old (new again) BURNS & ALLEN, FATHER KNOWS BEST, I MARRIED JOAN, etc. shows.

The trouble with stupid people is they dont know they're stupid...

No factual info here, but I have heard strong rumors that its two of these four....

Gilligan's Island
Mayberry RFD....Due to tremendous "Andy Griffith" success
Petticoat Junction....Due to "Beverly Hillbillies" success
Gomer Pyle.....Due to tremendous "Andy Griffith" success

Shouldn't this thread have been created in December?-lol

I mean since the first show doesn' start until january 2010 i feel this discussion is way too early

Well if a show starts in January, it will probably be announced before or during December---so that would be too late to make "predictions".

I know but it has been announced which means that the prediction thread would be better for December since that's when we would be close to the announcement.

"The Patty Duke Show" was never on TV Land except for the one Nick at Nite anniversary weekend. It aired on N@N in the late 80s

I definately say Gilligan's Island and probably Gomer Pyle. They're going to go with something that did well for them in the past. These will probably come at the expense of Good Times and The Brady Bunch, but those 2 have certainly had their runs.

I wish it would be something like Get Smart or That Girl, but they aren't 'safe' enough. Definately USMC and Gilligan I think.

who cares what it is? They'd just mess it up anyway! TV LAND is such a joke; I've given up watching it. I don't even know what number it is in our listings; and I don't care.

I agree with those choices - Gilligan's Island and Gomery Pyle seem like perfect acquisitions for TV Land daytime. If they're trying to go for a 60s thing in daytime, those shows will help.

I would hope GP is in primetime so I can sample it more before I get more DVD's. GI wouldn't be bad either

I personally hope it's not Bewitched. I love the show, but WGN America's a good home for it right now. They treat their shows better than TVLand does, IMO.

Is there a rule that state's I'm not Allowed to bump old threadsThere's no rule against bumping old threads. However, it's a good idea to not bump time sensitive threads, this one predicts what was coming to TVLand in 2010 which is long gone. Same thing would go for previous years network upfronts discussion. But the general threads like what your favorite shows are and which show is better are fine to bump. There's no rule against it.
