As you may or may not know I work the 3rd shift at an inner city homeless shelter and prior to that at an inner city hospital and in that time i've seen just about everything - drive by shootings, hookers, drug deals etc. And I thought I've seen everything until tonight. The area I currently work in is located in a very seedy neighborhood - thugs and hoodlums walk the streets at all hours until dawn looking for anything to steal or anyone to mug, the known crackhouse at the end of the street has people coming and going all night long and of course the night would not be complete without the sounds of random gunshots....and what's going on in the middle of all this?.......a TAG SALE!

Can you believe someone is having a tag sale in the middle of the night in this crime ridden neighborhood?

it was hard to tell it was so dark  i saw a couple lamps and some decorative pictures and a few chairs. all that was illuminating the very small lawn fenced in by chainlink was a flickering streetlight and some dim porch lights. and this lady was sitting on her porch in her bathrobe with 2 guys drinking while people were looking at her stuff.

This neighborhood sounds like it needs a visit from Paul Kersey. He'll clean it up.

I can totally picture that happening. My uncle who is a cop used to see similar stuff like those sales happening.

God, that neighborhood sounds so scary! How do you deal with it, especially working at night? I hope they have good security!

Maybe they feel that people selling drugs at that time will get a hold of some extra cash and want to spend it on some nice lamps!

Creepy!
