Dunne covered in-depth many of the crimes featured on Unsolved Mysteries. His work was not without controversy, but he used his position as a person of privilege to expose people who were using money and power to circumvent the justice system.

I wasn't always a fan, but the first thing I thought of when I read this was "he'll be able to be with his daughter, Dominique, now..."

Thats sad to hear. I knew he was in bad shape. I enjoy watching him on "Power, Privilege and Justice".

Yeah, they didn't even mention on NBC news tonight that he was the father of Griffin and Dominique.
RIP, Mr. Duane. At least he'll be with his daughter again.

Forgive me, but who is Dominick Dunne again? I know I should know...which of the unsolved mysteries did he report on? :)

He was never on UM that I'm aware of. I assume it was posted on this board due to the similar type of stories he reported on.

Dominick Dunne was a pretty amazing crime writer. I think he made quite a name for himself during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. He was also the father of murdered actress Dominique Dunne. She was strangled to death by her abusive boyfriend back in the 1980's.
... I thought UM did a story once on "the Poltergeist curse." I must be mixing it up iwth another crime show?

Most likely. I see no evidence that UM ever featured such a story. (If anything, they did a segment on the alleged curse related to Bruce Lee.) The E! True Hollywood Story once did an episode about the Poltergeist films, so that might be the show you're thinking of.

I heard good things about his books. I never read one. I kind of remember UM doing a segment on the Poltergeist curse. But E! True Hollywood did one on it.
