the thread about Donna Douglas got me to thinking: has anyone ever seen Max Baer or Irene Ryan in anything outside of their BH roles?
I've seen Max Baer in a movie called "ESCAPE OF THE BIRDMEN" and one called "MACON COUNTY LINE" but that's all. And on "THE E! TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY" a few years ago, when they did "THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES" they showed a couple clips of her on "THE ANDY WILLIAMS SHOW" and as a presenter at the emmys, but other than those I haven't seen them in anything. How about everyone else?

On the Beverly Hillbillies Ultimate collection on the special features it showed Irene on a talk show. You could still recognize her.

I saw Max on an episode of Matt Houston. Buddy Ebsen was a regular on that show too.

Irene was in a lot of B-movies in the 1940s and 1950s, then she made the transition to TV in the 1950s like a lot of actors. According to many sources, she had worked in show business for nearly 50 years before "The Beverly Hillbillies" made her an "overnight" star in 1962 at the age of 60.

Speaking of those password appearances, Irene is included in the new collection. It is a nice set with many cool celebrities and their families in a few cases.
Hope that helps!

Max Baer played (I think) a private eye in an unsold pilot that NBC burned off in 1982. I've forgotten the title.
Irene Ryan appeared in at least one segment of Love, American Style--as romantic interest of Green Acres' Alvy Moore!

Max, Donna and Buddy are on Jerry Springer from 1993. It's really good when they all talk about the show. You can watch it on youtube.
