View Full Version : Did You Have Any Teachers That Were Gay?
jasonbigley 08-25-2009, 12:23 PM Did anyone here ever have a teacher(s) that were gay? One of our teachers at our local technical school is gay. He teaches cosmetology. I think he tells all of his students at the beginning of the year that way they feel more comfortable.
sunshinefizzy 08-25-2009, 03:44 PM I'm pretty sure I had closeted ones.
PunkyP0WER 08-25-2009, 03:52 PM my art teacher mr. blais was gay, he taught a variety of art classes including sculpture and photography. he was very nice and it was too bad because he was young and good looking too lol. he got in trouble once though because he showed us his photography portfolio from college and it was a bunch of photos consisting of male genitilia.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 08-25-2009, 03:54 PM There's something in the stars for me to get a lesbian teacher every few years. My 1st grade teacher was a lesbian, my science teacher in 7th grade was a lesbian, my English teacher in 8th grade was a lesbian, and my philosophy teacher my freshman year of college was a lesbian. Also, it was rumored that my science teacher in 8th grade was gay, too. Hmm, there must be more. I'm sure there's more. Trust me, I'm not complaining nor does it bother me. I love the gays.
Only my English teacher in 8th grade was likely the spawn of Satan. She was terrifying.
catlover79 08-25-2009, 04:08 PM Yes, two that I know of.
Darren J. 08-25-2009, 04:22 PM 9th grade gym teacher was a lesbian. She was cool though.

Wow, how times have changed. If there were any gay teachers when I went to school, it was never mentioned.
ZeldaGilroy 08-25-2009, 05:50 PM I work with a few gay teachers. I don't know if I had any gay teachers in school though...it never came up.
Mr. Television 08-25-2009, 05:51 PM Wow, how times have changed. If there were any gay teachers when I went to school, it was never mentioned.
Same here.
browneyes106 08-25-2009, 06:08 PM One of my 5th grade teachers was gay. My 7th and 8th English teacher was a lesbian.
MickeyMac 08-25-2009, 06:24 PM One of the female gym teachers was a lesbian. Thats the only one I know of in my school.

Same here. I had a gym teacher that evryone suspected was a lesbian in grade school. With some people you just know, and with her it couldn't have been much more obvious. As far as other teachers go, I'm sure their could have been, but it was never something they revealed, and was something I quite frankly didn't care to know. Wasn't my business.
GARFIELDKOOL 08-25-2009, 07:24 PM I believe my 10th grade art teacher, Mr. Hanson was gay. He talked feminine, hung around with his female colleagues, and had a twitch when he walked. Again, we suspected he was, he probaby wasn't, but he was a very nice man. But, he sexuallity wasn't the thing, he had major bad breath! LOL It was so bad, it stunk up the room at times. Whenever Mr. Hanson was brought up, people thought about his breath.
TheGreatPretender 08-25-2009, 07:53 PM My boss was gay. I don't have this class this semester but the Costume Design teacher, is gay and he relentlessly insults the students on their looks. There was this girl sitting next to me and he goes up to her and says "Guess what I see?" and she goes what and he says "Your roots" Lol, I told him he is gonna make me cry when I'm in his class.
When I was an extra on John Cameron Mitchell's film it took me the whole day to catch on that he was gay. I guess I can be all cool and say he was my boss.
dawsongirl 08-25-2009, 09:02 PM I have no idea. I can't even think of any that made you wonder. *shrugs* We just knew who was a hard-ass and who was nice.
gidgetgrape 08-25-2009, 10:35 PM We just knew who was a hard-ass and who was nice.
That's the only thing I thought about! Never had any teachers to come out. I did find out my third grade teacher was gay because when I was in high school he did a presentation about having AIDS. :(
adultescent 08-26-2009, 10:50 AM I went to Catholic schools, so no, of course not lol... Both my brothers had a notorious Australian gay paedophile as their science teacher during the 80s :| ...

littlebelle 08-26-2009, 05:19 PM There are a lot of lesbian teachers in the seattle public school district, idk why, it just seems to attract lesbians. I can only think of one gay guy teacher in high school and I never had him.
Chocoholic 08-26-2009, 05:22 PM I don't think any of mine were openly gay, although there were rumors that my 8th grade science teacher "Ms. Smith" was once "Mr. Smith".

browneyes106 08-30-2009, 12:50 PM I just remembered one of my college instructors was openly gay. He taught film and media courses. He was pretty cool. During the first week of classes he invited all his students to a mini film festival that was focused on gay and lesibian films.

That's pretty crazy. Something similar happend at my cousin's high school in Denver. One of the teachers at the school was involved in a pedophile ring in which he would have Mexican boys living in his house every few months. My friend said the teachers and students were really shocked because the teacher was well liked.

Dude111 12-31-2025, 10:56 AM I dont know if any of mine were to be honest!!
We didnt ever talk of such things.....
TheLittleFaerie 01-01-2026, 06:58 AM I had a lot of metrosexual teachers. Many female gym teachers who everyone assumed were gay but they had husbands, one butch gym teacher was married to a very feminine man, they basically had a role-reversal. Our history teacher also fit the gay man stereotype but he was engaged to a woman and finally married her.
Coffeecup 01-05-2026, 06:05 PM As a child in grammar school, I didn't know what the word meant. I grew up in the 1960's. If there were, none would ever say anything. I remember an All in the Family episode where Edith goes with Archie to a funeral of a cousin. Archie wants the tea set and it's found out the the cousin has a gay woman lover. The woman went on to say, if she told people she was gay, she would her school teaching job. How times have changed!!
stevea 01-05-2026, 07:43 PM I grew up the 1950s and 1960s; if there were, the students knew nothing about it and probably didn't care one way or the other. In fact, I knew nothing about any of the teachers' personal lives--except, I do remember the son of my English teacher, Mrs. Nobel, went to our high school--I doubt he was in her classes, though.
Dude111 01-06-2026, 01:22 AM Ya this thread is silly.. I doubt hardily anyone knew if thier teacher was or not!!
Dream Canteen 01-06-2026, 02:49 PM Ya this thread is silly..
