Police: Man leaves kids in car, goes to strip club

Mon Aug 24, 9:08 pm ET

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Authorities said a man was arrested after being accused of leaving two small children in his vehicle while he was in a Clearwater strip club. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports that the 33-year-old man left a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old in a car late Sunday night. The report said the man was in the club, drinking at the bar, for 30 to 60 minutes.

The nature of the relationship between the man and the children was not released.

He was arrested on two felony counts of child neglect and is being held at the Pinellas County Jail on $10,000 bail.

We had a similar incident this summer in my home town (Abbotsford, British Columbia) where a father left his two small children (Ages 4 years and 2 months) in a closed car (during a heatwave!) while he spent the evening drinking at a beer garden. Needless to say charges are pending.

Does anyone know if the guy is still married or divorced? If it's the latter, I have no idea why. Poor kids.

 Maybe the bars/strip clubs could provide baby sitting services.

This time you can't blame the Floridians. I hear stories all the time from all over the country about moms & dads leaving their kids in cars to do things for themselves, like going to spas, tanning salons, shopping, strip clubs....

Why would a Police man do that

It wasn't a Policeman, Aaron. You just misread it.

Those selfsh idiots should not be allowed to have children! I've seen children left alone in cars on several occasions and I called the police each time.

Your children should come first before your own personal comforts

Charles, Aaron is autistic. He sometimes just reads or spells
words wrong. You should have more paitience for him.

I'm perfectly aware of that and I meant no harm. All I did was simply point out the fact that it wasn't a Policeman and that he just misread the article. If Aaron is hurt or offended by it then I apologize but you have no business calling me down for it.

I just mistakenly thought that you were harassing Aaron. My bad.

I've never harrassed Aaron and I really don't appreciate being accused of it even though it was a mistake like you said. I have seen others here in the past that have harrassed him and I don't like it when it happens. If it does so again then the best thing is to report it or let Janice know about it and she or TJ can take it from there.

I am sorry, Charles. I have a tendency sometimes to open my
mouth before I really should and make hasty judgments on other
people even while telling other memers on here that they should not.
