Did Rita McLaughlin join the cast in the last season or was a different body double used? I was just reading that she was born in 1951 so she was underage in the 1965-66 season. Didn't California have a strict child labor law for actors.
Maybe that's why the whole twins having crazy situations got reduced and you see the focus shift to one of them and the other becomes a background character.

That's a good question. I believe that Rita was there before season three but I couldn't guarantee it. Now I'll have something to keep an eye out for when the first season DVD set arrives.

One thing I did notice was that as time went on Rita became a little taller than Patty Duke, so one scene Patty would be taller then the next scene it would be Cathy. :lol:
