View Full Version : Have You Ever Had a Cavity?
Wreckless 08-19-2009, 04:52 AM I eat a lot of junk food, chocolate, and rich type foods, and the last year I've had poor brushing techniques. I went to the dentist a few weeks ago, got my teeth cleaned, and I STILL have had no cavities, not one ever, and it's something I'm sort of proud of, I guess lol. Anyways, have you ever had a tooth cavity? Describe what it was like, and what the cavity stemmed from. And how many have you had, for the people with more then one?
comedyfreak 08-19-2009, 08:28 AM I've had at least 8 in my lifetime.
catlover79 08-19-2009, 08:30 AM Yes and it hurt like heck when I had to have it filled.

browneyes106 08-19-2009, 02:17 PM I've had two. They are on bottom left side. I got them when I was a little kid. I take pretty good care of my teeth.
OH Nuts! 08-19-2009, 03:10 PM I've had two. Last yr
Courtnee 08-19-2009, 03:20 PM I've had a whole bunch. Not fun.
MrCleveland 08-19-2009, 04:20 PM Last time I checked...eight. Maybe more.
I need my teeth checked VERY soon.
Scoobiedoo30 08-19-2009, 07:20 PM Yes I had a Cavity but I Had only 1 Cavity.
ZeldaGilroy 08-19-2009, 08:04 PM I actually never had a cavity until this past summer. My far back tooth was really hurting and I was sure I had a cavity so I went to the dentist. My tooth was so decayed they had to remove it...it couldn't be filled.
It was weird because only a couple of months earlier I went in for my checkup and my teeth were fine. Plus I had a different tooth that had cracked somewhere close to the root (apparently this is some weird occurance and shouldn't have happened) and the dentist could not believe I had a tooth that had broken like that but no cavity. I had to have it capped at the time. But they still didn't notice decay in my back tooth that a couple of months later resulted in dental surgery. Weird!
Crossing my fingers for no more cavities. I was pretty proud of my 0 cavity record until it was squashed this summer. :(
InspectorExstead 08-19-2009, 09:40 PM Yep, I've had a couple of cavities. They weren't fun to fill either. I think for me, the worst part was getting the novacaine shot-it hurt and it tastes nasty after. Bleh. Thankfully, the past two times I've been to the dentist, I haven't had any cavities. But a couple of years ago, I did need a root canal and that was pretty painful.
dawsongirl 08-19-2009, 10:29 PM Just one. I think it was from having braces; I lost some enamel from the back ones because those metal braces are UGH! When I got it, I was taken to another room but no one told me why. I felt like I was being held hostage; I was scared to death. But it was a simple fiil and less painful than getting the damn braces put on it the first place.
*Pleasant Tomorrow* 08-19-2009, 10:34 PM I'm 20 years old and I've never had a cavity in my entire life *knock on wood* Some people just have stronger teeth.

Scoobiedoo30 08-19-2009, 10:40 PM I have had no more Cavity
Big C 08-20-2009, 12:01 AM Yes.

That's how I am. And I still eat junk food/chocolate, and still don't have any cavities lol. It's weird...
Schmoopie 08-21-2009, 05:07 AM Several, unfortunately, but it's been a while (knocking on wood...)
beautifuldreamer 08-21-2009, 07:04 AM Yeah, 2 or 3. :D
I eat a LOT of chocolate.
Family Ties Forever! 08-24-2009, 12:46 AM Yes. I hate cavities. The worst was once when I had to have a root canal a few years back.
Dude111 12-31-2025, 11:04 AM I have had alot over the years...
I wish I had known about COMFREY ROOT years ago... I would have tried using it to repair my teeth instead of having them drilled :(
The stuff they use now is not as good!! .... It has FLOURIDE in it and doesnt do as well.... (Its called FUJI 9)
Really upsets me the way things have gone in this world.......
Coffeecup 01-05-2026, 06:12 PM Being over the age of 50, I must have half my back teeth filled. I am at the stage if I eat anything sticky or hard, a filling could fall out. My nephews and niece who wore born in the late 1970's have 1 or 2 fillings or even none. Makes me wonder if dentisty will be thinning out. The older people like me are now looking into dentures, tooth implants or going with out teeth
stevea 01-05-2026, 07:23 PM I have 2 or 3. One is in a difficult-to-reach upper wisdom tooth, which the dentist had to re-do.
Another one is an older filling which she doesn't like. I guess dentists sometimes don't approve of other dentists' work.
Dude111 02-09-2026, 09:40 PM Your lucky Stevie you didnt lose your wisdom teeth (knock on wood)
I dont want ya to have a hard time buddy.... I had all 3 of mine pulled the same day! (1 was pulled months before)
stevea 02-09-2026, 11:10 PM I had another wisdom tooth pulled years ago.
Dude111 02-10-2026, 02:30 AM OOW im so sorry!!
