I know it is a strange question, I do prefer James on the show, but there were some episodes without him before he got killed off that were ok. My favorite is on season 3, "Michael's Big Fall." That was when Lou Gosset Jr. showed up as Uncle Wilbur. You can't replace James, but Wilbur did a fine job stepping into that role. I love the chemistry he had with the rest of the cast, especially Willonia. He brought energy to the episode, plus, the episode itself was decent about Michael's grades were slipping.

Read the title again. I said a JAMES episode WITHOUT him BEFORE he got killed off. So your Judy Cohen episode and the rest you listed would not qualify.
