I found this information on a site called The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club:

We're saddened by news getting to us just this month that Billy Booth, who played Roger, one of Ollie and Nora's sons in "Family Visit" (Episode #130), died of liver complications on Dec. 31, 2006, at the age of 54. He would have been 55 on the 3rd of this month. Billy Booth was best known for playing Tommy Anderson, best friend of Dennis Mitchell, in TV's "Dennis the Menace from 1959-62.
I had no idea. It's hard to find any information on him. He was really great on the show.
RIP :(

I found this information on a site called The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club:
This site did not name their source for the information and I've found nothing to substantiate these claims. There is no information listed in the legacy.com website nor the social security death index and I found nothing on Google. Until some verifiable proof can be found, I will consider this a rumour and nothing more.

I sent an e-mail to Dr. Jeanne Russell last night regarding Billy and she replied with this message:
Hi Charles,
Thank you for writing and I am glad that you enjoy our show so much. I also wish it was available on DVD-maybe some day.
Sadly Billy did pass away as reported. Gloria Henry and I went to his memorial service and Jay called in. Unfortunately Robert John passed away years ago. I believe he was living in Hawaii at the time.

Thanks for getting official confirmation. I wasn't too sure of the site either when I originally posted the info. Sad to hear Robert John passed away too. :(
On Sunday, TV land happened to air The Andy Griffith Show episode with Billy and I was able to tape it. He really didn't have many lines, but it was still cool to see.

Wikipedia and IMDb both give August 3rd, 1952 as Billy Booth's date of birth. I found out yesterday that this info is incorrect. He was actually born on November 7th, 1949 which makes him two years older than Jay. This was confirmed by a very reliable source on another message board and also by his Sister whom I sent a note of condolence to. Billy graduated from High School in 1967 and later became an Attorney. His Sister posted a tribute Here (http://www.cvfalconsalumni.com/new/profile/userprofile/billyabooth1967).

Interesting about him being an attorney. In the 1966 Disney film, "Follow Me, Boys," he played a character named Leo who later grows up to be an attorney.

I am not sure if it is the same person, but a man named Billy Booth who had really long hair appeared on one of the news magazines on CBS. I think that it was 48 Hours.
