this case always freaked me out.....even though he lived near buffalo and I lived several hours away in poughkeepsie, just the thought of him being in the same state scared me. at least now he is behind bars, thank goodness.

The most interesting fact about the case is the actress who played Linda Yalem worked at the restaurant years ago were the key DNA evidence was collected by police to match Sanchez. Also the attacks took place almost over a 30 year period, from the late 70's to 2006.

I've known about this case for years, but I'm watching Solved (S3, E1) and they're profiling it. The uncle knew in the early 1980's that his nephew was a rapist. He covered for him, knowing what he was doing. The uncle should be held legally responsible for covering up evidence which resulted in more rapes and 3 murders. His uncle is a piece of crap.

Dateline also did a story on this case too. It's a good thing he was caught. I saw UM's segment on it when it aired live and it was extremely scary.

Solved also covered the Dana Satterfield case (S2, E5). Great show, wish Netflix had S1. It breaks my heart to hear about people doing time for crimes others committed. He was in for many years too. The worst is when you hear about how hard it is to release the person, even when there's evidence that they're 100% innocent.

All of the victims had double ligature marks on their necks. I think you're thinking of the East Area Rapist.
