View Full Version : "Mister Terrific" TheGoldenGirls1 08-13-2009, 05:23 PM I hate Mr. Terrific 80sTrivia 08-13-2009, 06:23 PM Well, he was a bit of a pompous @$$, but at least he kept his job at the station! delawaregeek 08-13-2009, 10:37 PM I hate Mr. Terrific and dislike the actor who played him Bob Dishy. I also hate that they did that extreme closeup of the stuntman at the end. I don't know why the director thought that was a good shot. It seemed even more wierd to me because the stuntman looked 80 years old. But that's a whole other story. PrettyinPink55 08-14-2009, 01:58 AM I thought this episode was funny!!! Dorothy "trying" to take over the show was hillarious!!!! TheGoldenGirls1 08-14-2009, 04:50 PM I actually enjoy the episode, but cannot stand the actor who portrays Mister Terrific. PrettyinPink55 08-16-2009, 02:54 AM What's so bad about the actor? TheGoldenGirls1 08-16-2009, 11:43 AM Bob Dishy was very annoying, and he wasn't nice to anyone in "Mister Terrific." JL82 09-25-2009, 07:19 PM Bob Dishy was very annoying, and he wasn't nice to anyone in "Mister Terrific." The character is not someone you'd want as a friend or boyfriend in real life. I think the actor played him that way on purpose. But that kind of person can be funny to watch, and I think the episode has some funny parts. I also like the sub-plot with Blanche's bed, because there is a set-up for some great jokes at the expense of Blanche's "bed habits." Then they tie the two together very neatly, by having "Mr. Policeman" cause Blanche to break down. It's an interesting take on Rose, though: you would think she would be turned off by his pompousness, but she thinks it's cool to be with a "television celebrity." He's basically decent to her, actually. ratherbwatchinGG 09-25-2009, 11:21 PM It's an interesting take on Rose, though: you would think she would be turned off by his pompousness, but she thinks it's cool to be with a "television celebrity." He's basically decent to her, actually. I agree. Here is naive Rose (remember she thought Bob Hope was her father) taken by a "super hero" who is full of himself. It was an interesting match and made for a cute story. That same actor was in the episode of All In The Family that came to be the pilot for Maude. He played Carol's fiance. |
