It was a good show too. Alot of people liked Inger Steven & William Windom together.

Too bad Inger comitted suicide. (That was so sad). :(

I wish someone would air it. I've never seen it.

I saw The Farmer's Daughter on CBN (now The Family Channel) in the mid-80s. I enjoyed italthough it was nothing spectacular. I would watch it again, but I haven't seen it aired anywhere since. I'm not sure, but I think it started out in black and white.

Yes, it started out black and white and eventually went to color. I distinctly remember this series from my childhood, though with my memory, that's totally amazing. Love these old goodies. :-)

i also saw this series on cable in the '80s and agree that it was a charming, harmless half-hour, not so much funny as friendly.

about "the wedding" episode originally aired in 11/65. this episode got a huge buildup and provided the series with it's biggest rating ever (in fact, i think it was #1 show of the week!) but it also provided a valuable lesson that future shows like I DREAM OF JEANNIE, GET SMART! RHODA, MORK AND MINDY, WHO'S THE BOSS and countless others ignored, which is: Don't marry off the romantically inclined leads or you'll kiss your audience goodbye soon after...

The series itself was based on a 1947 movie of the same name. Loretta Young played Katy Holstrum, and, like the sitcom, the movie focused as much on the growing romance between Congressman Morley and Katy as it did on other factors in her life. Since Columbia Pictures produced the original film, it gave them a new audience when the TV show debuted in 1963.

Sorry, Peter., but "THAT GIRL", which WAS ABC, was NEVER by Screen Gem,s-Columbia Pictures or any other biggie, star Marlo Thomas's then-new Daisy productions (a spinoff of Sheldon Leonard's studiop) produced it.Understandable connfusion.

It was tragic. She was a very attractive young lady.

Inger Stevens appeared in an episode of Twilight Zone where she was driving cross county and kept seeing the same guy on the side of the road. That episode always creeps me out.
