She was a beautiful lady and my sister and I enjoyed watching her. :( Anna 03-06-2003, 12:36 AM I agree Inger was so pretty, was she some where in thirties when she died??:( HepburnA1 04-08-2003, 07:38 PM I heard alternative information suggesting that Inger may have been murdered. I think she was found with 2000-2500mg of Seconals in her system, which would probably be 20-25 pills. I believe the she was found in her kitchen and on the counter was sandwich fixings to make a sandwich, making things look as though she might have been interrupted. The author of a biography I read called "The Farmer's Daughter Remembered" hinted that it was possible she had a visitor before she died, because she spoke to a couple of friends that night who said she sounded in good spirits and she was excited about a new series she was supposed to be in. Perhaps someone came to see after her these calls and forcibly overdosed her, because authorities supposedly never found a bottle of origin or a prescription for the Seconals. The last person who saw her that night was someone she was romantically linked with: Burt Reynolds. I'm not making any accusations, and I like Reynolds's acting, but he doesn't have the best history with women, as former wives Judy Carne and Loni Anderson can attest to. Just a possible theory....:O Pitooey 04-08-2003, 11:41 PM Hmmm... I never knew of Inger and Burt. If this is true........ it will only be another Hollywood scandal. For some reason detectives in La La Land never find out who commited crimes. There are so many unsolved mysteries over there. In my mind she has commited suicide until they can really prove otherwise. Goodnight Gracie 07-05-2003, 12:25 AM I`ve heard the theory of muder too. I`d hate to think someone would harm that lovely lady for any reason. Zoneboy 08-02-2003, 01:45 AM Following her suicide from acute barbiturate poisoning, it was revealed that Inger had been long married (from 1961) to African-American bit actor Ike Jones. The marriage, for obvious reasons, was kept under wraps to protect her career. They were estranged at the time she died. She cheated death three times. In her first suicide attempt, she swallowed sleeping pills and ammonia which left her with blood clots in her lungs, legs swelled up to twice their size, and temporary blindness (she miraculously recovered within weeks); one time she and Rod Steiger were nearly asphyxiated by carbon monoxide fumes while filming a scene from "Cry Terror" in a tunnel; and once she leaped from a crash-landing jet liner minutes before it exploded. One of her best remembered TV roles was on an episode of "The Twilight Zone" in which she played a frantic lady driver who kept passing the same hitchhiker on the road ("Going my way?"). The audience later finds out the phantom actually represented Death and that she had been killed in a car accident all along. An eerie foreshadowing? Just the strong smell of ammonia knocks me out, I can't imagine drinking it. Just awful to think she would do that.
