I have a question about series whose DVD releases have music replacements ("Family Ties," "The Odd Couple," etc.):
I just purchased the #1 release of "Family Ties" (1982-83), and it says on the back "Music has been changed for this home entertainment version." I don't think I've seen that much of "Family Ties," outside of seeing the occasional reruns or parts of reruns. That said, my question is, if you haven't seen that much of a series whose DVD releases have music replacement, would the replacements have as much impact as if you knew the series inside and out and knew the music that was played in each episode during the series' original run?
